Lizy here (loyal lurker for at least 7 years). I recently received a copy of Matt's Mood as a birthday gift (3/6) from my brother. He says he got it at this place called Amoeba, jazz section. Leslie: - -the BasiaWeb site looks amazing. If I only had more time to visit it more frequently...(grad student about to take the ABD exams). - -I was also hooked on Basia from 'Time and Tide'. Only difference was that I watched the video, and I was definitely NOT 10 years old. : ) - -I just ran into your Listmania compilation at amazon.com, a good thing. I will forward it to a friend of mine who has never heard about Basia--and she's Brazilian! Can't believe it, she's missing out big time. - -thanks for all of the above! To everyone else on the list, I enjoy reading your posts. And for those who are going to see Basia in concert, enjoy the show! I don't think I'll go to the House of Blues. After seeing her at the Greek Theater a few years ago, I don't think anything else can top that. Unless it's Basia at a larger venue, with new album, and singing all the Basia oldies. Oh well, wishful thinking... Take care, Lizy ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 18 Mar 2005 09:08:12 EST From: Brucecigar@aol.com Subject: Re: Where's the CD? I am on a very aggressive chemo therapy program for cancer that I have. It was diagnosed 7 months ago. Time flys. One week i get a 5 hour treatment and the next week i get a 2 hour treatment. over and over. Cancer sucks. However I am able to tolerate these treatments and all of the bad stuff in my body is shrinking according to the CT scans i have had. Yeah! My blood counts are good. That allows me to continue treatments. I'm not going away soon! and I have all my hair! I am having a difficult time, which show to go to?????? Right now, Seattle is the only one that works, i love Seattle and the Pacific Northwest, or maybe Denver or Phoenix. After the cancellations of the east coast shows i'm a little cautious and may play it by ear. I hope they add a few more shows. I'll be hangin' out at the basiaweb for new dates. My timing is awful. I'll be in Wales for half of the American tour. I'm not complaining. I can offer answers to questions or concerns about cancer from a patients point of view off the list if they should arise. I've learned a lot about it. don't be shy. Tom Neill ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 18 Mar 2005 15:43:02 GMT From: "Amy ODonnell" Subject: Re: Where's the CD? I too have had the same problem. Last week in Houston I looked in several places, including Borders, who told me that they were supposed to have one, but didn't. We looked under Jazz and International Music, but, no Matt. I may have to order the darn thing online. . .but I'm SO glad I popped for the import! Hope you can get the treatments over soon. As to which show, yeah, that's tough...we are all afraid of cancellations at this point. (Especially me, I just found out this week the Billy Joel show I had tickets for in two weeks has been cancelled.) I have tickets to the Phoenix show and I have been checking ticket sales regularly...they seem quite slow. Two weeks after going on sale seats are still available just four rows behind mine, right in front of the stage. Fortunately the venue is fairly small, but I'm still a bit paranoid. I'd like to see some sections filling up. Steve R I am having a difficult time. I am on a very aggressive chemo therapy program for cancer that I have. It was diagnosed 7 months ago. Time flys. I'm having some of the same experiences. I haven't been CD shopping in the city yet, so I don;t know the state of things there, but in suburbia forget it: no one knows where to file them, under what name, under what genre, and that is if they even have it. Tower had it under B, in pop/rock, and on sale as a promotion. That was cool. Borders had it in the front area but not in the actual rest of the store.
