There are at least 4 of us on this list from SC that aren't lurkers. I wonder if there are more closet Basia fans in SC than her promoters recognize. At a previous roll call, we hypothesized that there must be something in the water in Dallas, TX that makes Basia fans because there were so many associated with Dallas. I flew into Dallas several times and might have drank the water! Okay, guys, I wrote a letter to the Ellen show about having Basia and Matt Bianco perform on the show. Below follows the copy of the letter I sent. If anyone else is interested in writing to the show, use the following link: http://ellen.warnerbros.com/funstuff/onyourmind/index.html The letter may be a bit cheeky, but she eats into that stuff big time. And, as I mentioned before, if we play our cards right she might even make a special segment about such a grass roots campaign to get her onto the show. Anyway, if you want to, let me know what you think: LETTER TO ELLEN DEGENERES Ellen, could you do me a big favor? PRETTY PLEASE? I love watching your show and I know you can help me and my friends out. I have a lot of friends that are huge fans of the artist called Basia. Her style is contemporary jazz with Latin beats (bossa nova, samba, cha cha). She had some hits in the late 80's ("Tim & Tide") and early 90's ("Cruising for Bruising," "Drunk On Love), but has not released a studio album since 1994. However, she has recently reunited with the group Matt Bianco, which she was an original member in 1984 but soon left the group to go solo. They are releasing a new studio album in the States very soon called "Matt's Mood." Her fans of her solo and group work have so anticipated her return and the group's return. She and the group bring so much joy to their fans through their music and we cannot conceal our excitement that she has new work and will soon be touring the US. We would love for Matt Bianco featuring Basia to be introduced to a wider audience. This is where you come in! Matt Bianco featuring Basia is not a mega-artist by any means, but the group is extremely talented and could benefit from the exposure of being on your show. If you take requests for musical acts to be on your show, PLEASE CONSIDER HAVING MATT BIANCO FEAT. BASIA ON! The group's fans and fans of your show would owe their first born to you out of gratitude!
