And who did that solo? None other than Larry Carlton. Nothing warms me like other people applauding for the talents of LC, still the best damn guitarist to play in Wal-Mart! And something to warm everyone's heart this holiday season is Christmas At My House, Larry's outstanding Christmas CD. I know we plugged it on the list last year, but it's worth another hurrah. Hard to believe that came out 15 years ago. He does a wonderful acoustic version of the Lord's Prayer too. I thought Larry's only claim to fame was playing the guitar break on Mike Post's Theme Song from Hill Street Blues! He's as ubiquitous on guitar over thelast 30 years as Hal Blaine was on drums He and his wife team up for a bluesy version of "Things We said today". You're half way thorugh the song before you realize it's a Beatles tune. His version of Layla rocks too. He came to Little Rock one summer several years ago and did an outdoor concert and admission was $5. It hurt to be out of town that weekend. We did get to see him in 1987 or 88 when he was promoting Discovery. Only sick part of the concert was Benson and Hedges was sponsoring the tour and they were passing out free cigarettes at the lobby. Are they even around anymore?
