I hope all of you are fine and healthy. Last Friday, I finally bought a copy of Matt's Mood. Actually, it had been released in Indonesian in August but I was too busy and too lazy to search it in the music store. It's in cassette/tape format; I couldn't find the CD format. Maybe they're sold out or made in a small number, I don't know. One thing I know is that, I got the last copy of it. But the good things is that, I don't have to wait till next year, just like what I thought months ago. My impression to this album is that, it's Matt Bianco, so it's normal, isn't it? However, I have to "wrinkle" my forehead first before I can enjoy the songs. No, it's not that bad; it's just, I have to get accustomed to the fact that in this album, Basia didn't do solo; it's a group, and it's still not familiar to me. Well, some songs, such as, Ordinary Day, Say The Words, and Ronnie's Samba "taste" like the familiar Basia in her solo albums, but the other songs are trully Matt Bianco, IMHO. I still have to struggle to "digest" those songs, e.g., La Luna with it's little Cha-cha style, Wrong Side of The Street, which reminds me to a genre of 1970's music (I don't know exactly the genre is), and Slip And Sliding, also Matt's Mood III, which I think, they're great for movie soundtracks. One song remind me to Whose Side Are You on, but sorry, I'm still struggling to memorize the title and to recognize one song to another.... :-) In addition, I also got an impression that Basia did a little mature and calmer style in Matt's Mood without leaving her patterns, that's what I like. After all, we don't want to see/hear Basia jumps all over the stages and screams crazily when singing like rock stars who never realize their ages, do we? OK, that's all from me. After listening to Matt's Mood, I'm getting more impatient to wait for her next solo album(s). But what can I do? I have to wait just like you all, even longer, but I know it is worth waiting for.
