[Eryn Rachell Saddler Subject: MB in an Indonesian article Hello all, how are you? I hope you're all fine. Last Sunday 7/18 (Indonesian time, of course), I was surprised when I was reading the newspaper. In the entertainment page, I found an article about Matt's Mood. Wow! It's a surprise since everything about Basia and Matt Bianco is hard to find in Indonesia. The article reminded me to the last article of her written in the same newspaper (Kompas) months ago. At that time, they wrote that Basia is from America which, of course, made me laugh out loud. Soon I wrote an e-mail to them to correct their mistake, tell them about her latest work including Matt's Mood, and make them to feel free to ask our group and me if they need something about her. However, just like other Indonesian newspapers, they feel "too hard" to say sorry and thak you when they're reminded about mistakes, esp. silly mistakes. Well, maybe they're "too proud" of their reputation of the Indonesian leading newspaper but I don't care about that. As long as there is something new about her written in the news, I'm happy. OK, below is the translation of the article. Enjoy! (Note, I keep the original form of the newspaper, so if there is something funny, the only thing I could say is, they need to learn more about Basia, esp. in writing her name, and Matt Bianco - and ask us kindly, of course...:-)..) ******************************** KOMPAS, Sunday, July 18, 2004 MANY THINGS IN JAZZ BIANCO Album: Matt's Mood; Artist: Matt Bianco; Label: Universal This is the jazz group that combines Jazz, Latin, and Pop styles since their first album 20 years ago. At that time, the song "Get Out of Your Lazy Bed" was among the big 20 of the European chart. The wave of Matt Bianco's Samba stopped for a while because everybody was busy with his/her own solo albums. However, in Matt's Mood, they're back together; Basia "Trzetrelewska", Mark Reilly, and Danny White. Mark asked Mark Fischer, a pianist, in 1985 to join Matt Bianco and released seven albums. "Ordinary Day", as the opening song in this album, reveals the identity of this group. Mark Reilly with Bossa-Nova rhythm & Basia's voice were blended in a Latin style. "La Luna", which combining Cha-cha and Pop, is also one of the hits. While "Ronnie's Samba", presenting the rhythm of Jazz-Samba, is the special song in this album, in memory of their best friend, a saxophonist, Ronnie Ross, who played in Matt Bianco's first album. The three people, who are now back together, are not only developed in each musical character. Matt Bianco now add some more musical things with the gaily keyboard sound as what Danny White does. While Mark Reilly contributes his voice in "Kaledioscope". Three "reliable" Jazz musicians, together again in an old group with a new spirit, that is the newest Matt's Mood.(EDN) ********************************* That's all, folks! If only I knew the man behind the initial "EDN", I would write some words to him/her to add some more; that's when I feel good. If I feel bad, I'd like to make fun of him/her instead..... :-) Czesc, Desianto F. W. Yahoo! If I weren't, you know, 10,000 miles away or something, I'd be right there at the Astoria, eyes big as saucers. To keep semi-OT, Andy Ross, Kevin Robinson (aargh!) and Julian Crampton were part of the lineup. Sob! Time to crawl into my little corner and bemoan the fact that I'm in the US. Again. ;-) - --Leslie __________________________________ Do you Yahoo!? I know that every shopping site under the sun lifts Amazon's reviews, but it really galls me that this guy is acting like he wrote this as a review. And I get some satisfaction in calling him out on it. I highly suggest that if you see your bit on here, that you leave a comment too, for no other reason than to make him look like an..idiot. It's nearly unavoidable anymore, I think you chose well with Mac ;) I should know better than to use Windows as frequently as I do, but Ad-Aware is a mighty nice product for zapping the nasties Heck, even UNIX browsers can have cookies planted, even non-graphic ones like Lynx. I should prolly crank up the paranoia settings up a few notches in my browser settings to prompt me more for accepting or denying them There we go! - -*- Eryn Rachell Saddler .::. Yeah, it's part of the pitfalls of putting something up on the web. Grrrr. I shall hex him with infestations of adware, spyware and spam! Word is that someone on the official side knows about it and that I wrote it, and that makes it all a-ok for me. :-) - --Leslie Tired of spam? Yahoo!
