Subject: RE: What a cruddy day Thanks, Steve. That was amazing. Thanks for sharing it, it really felt good to read. Wow. Those guys are really amazing. My grandpa was abandoned at age seven, dumped off on a country road, duting the Depression. He worked on a farm to have a place to live, and raised himself. Then he went off to war, led troops through North Africa--promoted quickly, because so many were lost at the front. Told threatening tigers to shut up, walked to the Taj Mahal, got to demand supplies from the British Army unit and got a response from Churchill, amazingly. Went back to Appalachia, got his wife and moved with e everyone to Pontiac, Michigan where he would work two plant jobs. And this is so not unusual for that generation! I think of that and wonder if I would ever have the cojones. My grandpa's at home now, and being visited by friends and family, and being made as comfy as we can make him. He's sharp as a tack and tough as ever-and he keeps asking everyone else if they are okay. If only his body could contain his strong life force--but I have to give him a break, he's lived enough life for three of me! - --Leslie __________________________________ Do you Yahoo!? Friends.
