I thought Matt Bianco was some guy what was a Basia soundalike or something. But it actually appears as if Basia is finally back - isn't this worthy of some fireworks or something? How many years have we pined away on this list for any new music from the object of our fandom? This is really a huge thing, and the notion of a possible tour is an answer to our hopes after all this time. Honestly, if someone had told me back in .... hm ... 1997? ... when I first joined this list ... and said "Steve, just wait, only 7 years, and there will be something new!" Well, NOW I would say something like "now I can die", but I better not until I actually get the CD first. - - Steve ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 23 May 2004 19:08:25 -0700 From: Stephen Ylvisaker Subject: Re: Matt's Mood. Subject: Re: Basia at last Hi Steve and all, I know and I got an impression that deep inside our hearts, we're still waiting for her next solo album(s) (I'm not sure if there will be one or two albums because just like we've discussed loooooong time ago, she would make two) though, of course, this new MB album, indeed, can quench our thirst of her voice. Anyway, if you read my message about the news from Poland, it's written that SHE HAD recorded her new materials much earlier before she "rejoined" with MB. However, she thought that it would be better to "keep" them for a while since the materials have more "sad things" than the "happy ones" due to her sad experiences concerning her family at the beginning of 2000's. From those words, I get an assumption, and I hope I'm right, that she would release her new solo album after MB, after she made some changes in it, though personally, I don't mind with her "sad materials" because she had given us much "happy things" years ago. Well, life, in general, has two sides, isn't it? Happy and sad, good and bad, and sort of. So, I think, it's OK if she "sings out" her sadness and share it with us, hopefully, it will ease her heart. So just wait and see. When we least expect it, she will come. Sooner or later, I don't know (of course we hope for sooner..:-) but the decision is hers). When she is ready, she will go for it.
