Subject: Sweetest Illusion

Hey gang!

I have been "digesting" my Sweetest Illusion the last few days, and man, what 
a ride! I seem to be about the slowest when it comes to really "getting into" 
new music, I found myself getting irritated with myself with how hard it 
seems for me to do that, but this BASIA, for crying out loud. (Anybody else that 
way? I hate it!) 

But NOW, I am fully immersed and loving all of it. What a perfect song to 
start out with: Drunk On Love. What an infectiously joyous song! Love it. "Third 
Time Lucky" seems to me to have quite a "Carpenters" sound, which is certainly 
no demerit in my book. And then, Yearning! All I can think of when the chorus 
arrives is "wall-to-wall Basia"! Could chords be any fuller voiced? Blows me 
away, man.

The first time I heard "She Deserves It", I was wondering if perhaps that was 
Toni Braxton singing with Basia. But, it turned out to be someone I am not 
familiar with. (Trey Lorenz) But the song and her voice as well remind me of 
Toni. Maybe it's just me. So is there a story behind the Greek wedding dance 
(Rachel's Wedding) that I don't know about? Was Rachel Greek or something like 
that? Just curious.

I will stop here, as this is getting quite long, do the rest later. What is 
my number one favorite? Jeepers, I would have to include a list of songs to all 
be number one at this point. But I am totally "lost" inside "The Sweetest 
Illusion" and loving it! :) I guess there is some advantage to not having all the 
recordings, as I have more to look forward to during this waiting period. I 
have no Matt Bianco, nor have heard any that I know of. So, much more to go. 
But I will be saturating myself in TSI for a long time to come.
