I know that she performed as a guitarist in that serial. I think her appearance at that time was a little bit different from this present days. Someone told me that she used to be made blonde and had her hair short-cut. Desianto F. W. ====================================== "Amy T. I too think it's the guitarist. I watched the clip a couple of times, and there's a spot at 1:42 into it where there's about a 2 second close-up of the guitarist. Her hair is much shorter and she has a hat on, but I'm pretty sure it's her. The facial features seem to be the same. A couple of other things I thought I'd throw out there. Tonight I was grocery shopping in a store that's a part of the largest chain in St. Louis and I heard "Cruising For Bruising" serenading the customers. They will certainly get all of my business now, I'll be walking up and down the aisles waiting for another sweet melody. ;) The other good thing is I'm about ready to get a phone that is compatible with Xingtone, so I'll get to hear the lovely lady's voice every time someone calls me. The only phone I have is my cell, so I get a lot of calls on it. What a joy that will be. Thanks to Kamille for the heads up on that software! The days are getting longer here. Partially because spring is almost here and the sun is up longer, but mainly because of the anticipation of the new CD!! I was initially focused on the lead singer; the second time I watched it I tried to see if any others were Basia. I couldn't tell, but now that Desianto mentions it, I'll take your word for it! I, too, heard "Cruising for Bruising" the other day, on www.smoothjazz.com. I like online radio stations a lot, and that one seems to be one of the best and the easiest to use. Like another one of my favorite jazz musicians, Bobby Caldwell (www.bobbycaldwell.com), Basia just doesn't get the airplay too often. It's practically a complaint to request a Bobby Caldwell song, and the same with Basia. The smooth jazz station here in Houston plays a lot of Sade, but no Basia. WhatEVER. I saw Bobby Caldwell about a year ago--incredible performer and musician, if anyone didn't know. BTW, is the new Matt Bianco CD going to be available in the US, like through Amazon, or will it be only available in Europe, and by import (like through Amazon)? Just wondering. I was only a Basia fan before, but if I can, I'll try to get this new MB CD. Hey, am I the only one who cries while listening to "Brave New Hope?" I heard it live in 1994 in New Orleans (what an incredible show that was) and to this day I cannot listen to it without getting teary. She sang it with the strength that sometimes I wish I had myself. . .oh, heck--with a voice I wish I had myself! Okay, it's gettin' late here in Texas. . .talk to y'all tomorrow. Subject: Re: Had she ever been on a comedy show? Barry, I think the 1:42 close-up is the bassist. But I'm also not so sure if the guitarist is her because the guitarist has curly blonde hair. I know that Basia had wavy blonde hair in the early years of her appearances, but curly? I'm not so sure. If it's true that she is the bassist and not the guitarist, well, I can be a little bit happier in these sad days (my grandma passed away last Monday 3/15) because she "played" the same kind of instrument as I do...
