Hope it is cool to do this.. I never read these MB things because most of them bore me, but for some reason I read yours and heard the best news I've heard in a long time. I miss Basia something terrible, and to hear this makes my day!!!! Let me know as soon as you hear of any release date. I have played my Basia Clear Horizon to death, and have been yearning for new sounds from her voice. Jimbo ----------------------------------- snip #3 This will be an interesting album. MB with Reilly / Fisher evolved with the changing popular music influences - I think that Rico and Echoes are the finest 2 albums that MB released. Reforming with the original members of an album that is nearly 20 years old is a challenge - will we get a full circle back to the original sound which has a limited place in the modern music world, or will the MB brand continue to evolve ? I'm sure that there are many fans that consider the first album to be the finest, but I don't share this view - yes the original album was what tuned me into MB in the first place, but the pop / latin influences on the subsequent albums for me are far better. The setlist that MB played on their last tour showed how far they had evolved - not a single song from the early albums, all tracks coming from the latter years. I would rather see this set live anyday of the week. It will be very interesting to see if record companies consider the material to be marketable and the album gets a release , as we all know, the music industry has changed beyond belief in the past 10 years, many artists from this era now chosing to distribute material directly by the internet, leaving the big corporates to focus on the rubbish that pollutes our airwaves today , and the umpteenth best of collection from another 'classic' artist. By the way, I received the MB video, I will be giving it to Win on Thursday, so hopefully there will be a digest DVD soon. Has anyone got any other footage that we can use ? Now we have a "solid" confirmation about the release of the new MB album. Though Basia did the vocals in it, not releasing her new SOLO album, it, hopefully, would be able to quench our thirst of her new materials. I hope the "D day" wouldn't be so long from now.... ========================================= > snip #3 > > > This will be an interesting album. I asked about "Rico", how good/great and worth buying it is months ago. Unfortunately, they didn't talk about "Gran Via". Do you have any idea about it? Czesc, Desianto F.
