If there is proof, the "Yes" is a link to click, which takes you to the incidents and/or anecdotes used as proof of IRL. I intended to include only real life smokers in that list - I tried to, anyway. Incidentally, has it been established that people who only smoke in the movies do not sustain the same lung damage, bad breath and ugly teeth, aside from the obvious that they may not smoke 'round the clock but only while shooting the pictures? If that is true, then perhaps people who only smoke when they go out drinking are not doing significant damage either, eh, especially if they do not go out often. (!) I DID dig a little deeper, and I tried to include only those who were listed as positive smokers In Real Life. If I included some "fake smokers" by mistake, I apologize, but do not be in such a hurry to accuse me of shoddy research. I spent several hours on that list. (I know, I had more important things to do yesterday but I was intrigued by the list.) /jan - ----- Original Message ----- From: Jeff Abrams To: basia@smoe.org Sent: Tuesday, February 03, 2004 3:09 AM Subject: RE: Smokers As interesting as that list is, you need to dig a little deeper. I got to interview William B. Davis at the height of the X-Files popularity - I guess 1996. He told me he was once a smoker, but had given it up years before. When he got the part of the cigarette smoking man on the X-Files, he found himself hoping to get called in to do an episode so that he would get to smoke. Finally, he realized he was getting the habit again, and he switched to some kind of herbal cigaretter (no, I don't think it was that kind of herb.) In my original post, I didn't mean to imply that Basia is actually a smoker, drinker or dirty joke teller. I was simply describing typical behavior of singers at the studio, while the band members are doing the hard work of laying down the tracks. juan ------------------------------ End of basia-digest V9 #17 **************************
