W." Subject: Re: Puzzlement & Questioning Hello all, It feels SO GOOD to see some of you again after some days with no messages! I agree that the early messages are HOT because I've read some of them and honestly, I hope that in the future, we can 'burn' this list again (let's pray for this....:-)...) However, there is a question in my mind: Where are those people now? Are they too tired to hold on? Even, some of us now begin to 'vanish'; well, maybe they're busy but please, say hello at least once a week (or two weeks, or a month,..:-)..) Recently, I joined a group of Toyota Kijang owner (because I own one) just in case I can contribute something to the group. I said hello and ask something about 4-WD modifications. However, I think I had gone to the wrong place because they ignored me - maybe because of that 4-WD topic - because all of them are speed goers and I'm pretty sure that they won't give any attention to a 4-WD topic (FYI, Toyota Kijang is originally 2-WD). Moreover, I don't feel at home there beside, actually, most postings, IMHO, don't give me anything. Honestly, I have more to share with them (because I used to be a speed goer and I tune my car by my own hands but now I've left that attitude; road safety is the first priority) but I think they have neglected me, so, I think, sorry for them! So, without looking back, I unsubscribed from that group after no more than 3 days. And now, I found some messages in our beloved list; it's like water going through my thirsty throat! Thank's all! Well, that's all! I'm waiting for new day in the list. Desianto F. Do you think that was Basia's voice doing "Gimme that" at the start of the song? and if it was do you guys think it was an "Eventide harmonizer" dialed down about an octave so she/someone sounds like Barry White. has anybody ever dialed that back up to see what it really sounds like?? time permitting I could, but can anybody whip out an answer to that question??? tom ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 9 Dec 2003 18:55:39 -0800 (PST) From: "Desianto F. I belong to several Toyota online groups. Sorry about your experience with one. It sometimes happens that everyone thinks someone else will answer a post, and then find out that nobody did. (It's like in playing volleyball, where everybody reaches up to hit the ball, but the ball falls to the floor anyway!) I am not familiar with your model Toyota. Perhaps it's sold in the US under a different name, or maybe not. I currently own a Tercel Wagon, a Cressida Wagon, a Vanwagon, and a Previa. Been buying Toyotas almost solely since 1989. There's something else you and I have in common. Must be we like EXCELLENCE wherever we find it! :) Phil (2) ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 9 Dec 2003 22:20:23 -0700 From: "/JC" Subject: Re: lower octave voice The concensus certainly seems to be that it's Danny White. Seems taken for granted by whomever this reviewer is, at http://music.mainseek.com/45881R554P18455K5_Basia-Brave-New-Hope-Artists-A-Z- B-Best-Album-In-The-World-Ever-Series.html who said: "Give Me That, Masquerade, and Come to Heaven - One good point in these songs is the voice of Danny White. Finally, we can hear him sing in Basia's albums. Come to Heaven has almost the same style as Miles Away, although it is not Swing Jazz - it is close to 1950's Ballad. Nice songs to listen to."
