He talked about how most musicians have gone to using drum machines on their studio work and how the studio drummers are in big financial trouble. Fortunately Blaine himself invested well and is in good shape, because even he can't find work anymore. By the way, DENNIS Wilson was the drummer for the Beach Boys...Brian generally played bass in the pre-breakdown days when he actually toured with the band. Steve R. Max wrote... If you'll look at the old album covers, Larry is correct. Hal Blaine has played drums on over 3000 recordings and I believe years ago we was on Larry King's radio show(might've been Jim Bohannon) and was hawking a book he'd written. He had mentioned that he also did the studio drum work for the Beachboys. he said Brian Wilson was an excellent drummer on stage, but didn't have the skills for studio work. ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 17 Nov 2003 19:29:55 -0600 From: Max Wellhouse Subject: Re: Carpenters, etc. At least I got the Wilson part right!!
