Well, I was quite surprised with this list recently, it seems that nobody followed my suggestion to sleep for a while (..:-D..just kidding). About 15 mails a day in this 'difficult' time and, well, it was quite surprising. Shall we thank Madonna for making us 'awake'?...:-) How about the comparison between our Basia and Celine Dion? One of my friend used to think that Brave New Hope is Celine's song.... surely he needed a 'knock' on his head.... Desianto F. W. __________________________________ Do you Yahoo!? I just read this Epinion by "Pantagruel" and then his self description under his profile. He says, among other things: "I have an eclectic taste in music and typically review whatever I am listening to at the time. I also plan to write on other topics including the odd Community Center Epinion once I have something intelligent to say." Without being harsh, all I have to say that 1) this guy must have a tin ear and nearly as limited an understanding of anything musical as one can have and still be alive; and 2) a pity he doesn't hold off on sharing his opinions of music until he has something intelligent to say. To give him the extreme benefit of the doubt, altho I'm not sure why we should, perhaps his lifework includes operating a jackhammer 16 hours/day. That would explain it handily. - ----- Original Message ----- From: Desianto F. W. To: basia@smoe.org Sent: Monday, November 10, 2003 12:55 AM Subject: Forgotten small thing... I've given them before and wouldn't hesitate to do it again to get her back in the studio. Hey! I resemble that remark! ;) (Sorry for so many posts, I was gone for a few days and I'm catching up now.) As far as I'm concerned, comparing our great Basia to Celine Dion is like comparing her to Madonna. Celine and Madonna are quite different, but neither can hold a candle to Basia. I have never been a fan of Celine. She is unattractive, pompous, and not terribly talented. She is "good" at singing fluffy songs with no meaning, that's the on;y reason she's had so much success.
