However, I do appreciate Fred's 'struggle' in getting it. It showed that he really loves Basia's music. Desianto F. W. __________________________________ Do you Yahoo!? The New Yahoo! Leaving lurk mode temporarily... Desianto, I haven't seen anybody else from Indonesia yet. I was curious this morning which countries looked at the images of Basia's "Simple Pleasures" compilation CD that I mentioned here 3 months ago (somebody also forwarded the URL to Yahoo's Basia group so some of the 'hits' are from there too). I looked at the web logs and found that nobody has looked at the images for over a week now so interest has definitely waned. Here are some low-budget statistics using grep, awk, and Perl's IP::Country from CPAN. In the last 3 months there have been 105 unique IP addresses looking at the images from the following countries: Brazil Canada Germany Denmark Spain France Indonesia Ireland Italy Cayman Islands Mexico Netherlands Poland - only 3 here, though one is dialup based in Warsaw, so maybe... United Kingdom United States - 72% of the IP addresses Desianto, the only IP address from Indonesia was 61.94.146.190 which is a dialup addresses within PT. Telekomunikasi Indonesia, Tbk -- presumably you. If there is another Indonesian on this list he or she hasn't looked at the SimplePleasures images. I'll spare everyone the hostnames (PTR records if you speak DNS) but a few things caught my eye: - - most people viewed the images from an ISP which *usually* means not from work (or simply from a smaller company that uses NAT with their ISP). - - we have Basia fans within Harley Davidson and the United States Marine Corp - - we have a fan using Cable and Wireless in the Cayman Islands - I'd like to hear that story! - - plenty of lurkers that went to the web site compared to the number of unique people that actually participate in the mailing list *cough*. - - Google's spider eventually found the URL -- without any help from me. No other spiders yet meaning other search engines have a long way to go (no robots.txt to keep them away *yet*). Without even looking into the mailing list email addresses, I can see that Basia really does have an international fan base. I wonder how Ben's web logs would differ...
