The past few months you have solely been breathing new life in this list, which unfortunately it needs often due to the lack of any real news about what's going on in the Basia world. Of course this list has it's share of drama now and then, but what list doesn't? It wouldn't be the same without some excitement now and then. I remember being part of several of them . . . don't really want to bring the past back up, though. :) I've been part of this list for five years . . . I can hardly believe it. I'm not very active, especially the last few years, but I am so glad that I still subscribe to the list. I've met some very interesting people from the list, and I enjoy reading nteresting comments. I am just happy to be part of something that has lasted for so long, through its up and downs, and to know of so many other dedicated fans that have not lost their faith completely. raburabu joe [demime 0.97c-p1 removed an attachment of type image/jpeg which had a name of Mountains .jpg] ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 26 Aug 2003 23:52:23 -0700 (PDT) From: "Desianto F. To be his relative, I have to sail over 2 or 3 seas or even dig a hole through the earth to Cuba. I'm lucky enough if people in my city don't after me because I make a new volcano from the hole that I dig. After all, I don't have a girlfriend/wife named Lucy. No, I don't have any relation with him. I'm just an ordinary young man from a small city, born in urban area and grew up in rural area, next to rice fields, streams, forests, volcanoes, and wildlife. Sometimes, I miss my childhood, the time when I was walking down the stream to catch fishes, climbing trees to play monkeys and at the same time stealing some sugar cane from the passing by trucks, running over the rice fields and beware of poisonous snakes, flying kites made from bamboo and thin paper, cycling around the forests, climbing up the hill, and sometimes running back home quickly when I was in my grandpa's place because at night, tigers sometimes came down when the water and food is gone, or when the volcano began to errupt, there, at the valley of Merapi volcano. It's a long, long time ago. I can't find them here in Se- marang. I hope someday I can go back to rural area, not limited only in my country but in other countries as well. And no one can take away the great music she has given us so far. Maybe Basia has a really good reason for not being out there recording and performing. How bad would we feel if we all deserted her out of frustration and she reappears after we've left. This is not a church or mosque, D.F.W., and in my country, you're free to behave any way you want (within reason)! (As long as you're not hurting someone else). My advice is to behave as though Basia is watching, because, who knows, she could be curious enough to drop in here some time and see what we're saying about her. Yikes! That's a nervous thought!
