Is it possible that the photo was taken during Basia's Broadway show? Desianto F. W. __________________________________ Do you Yahoo!? The New Yahoo! Search - Faster. Easier. I cannot go into a store, or on-line, and buy a copy of the CD with the live performances. I bid up to $25 on a copy on eBay recently, but didn't get it. So how do I get them? If I leave it up to the copyright holder, I won't. But I have to believe that Basia, if she knew of fan's interest, would want the fans to be able to purchase, legally, copies of that CD. Unfortunately, in today's world of commercial music, Basia doesn't own the rights to her own songs or performances. In a perfect word, I could send her $1.00 (or whatever she decided) electronically, and she could send me a copy of one of her songs that I could copy onto any number of CD-Rs, MP3 players, hard drives, etc., that I own, but I wouldn't be able to give any of these copies to another person. Whoever perfects a seamless way to do that will become a billionaire! Bruce, Still yearning to hear those live tracks. __________________________________ Do you Yahoo!? Yahoo! One of the biggest problems I have is what you stated. You want some music - maybe something that has been out of print for a long time, or never even released as in the case of ESK-1276. How do you get it without resorting to some illegal methods? (Technically you can't even sell a promotional copy.) It's a hot issue at the moment, and I don't know how long it will take to resolve it. Here's some interesting reading regarding ideas for legal distribution of music: http://www.pbs.org/cringely/pulpit/pulpit20030724.html On the surface it sounds legal, but with the clout RIAA has, and the new chairman to head the group, I fear they will just re-write law to suit their purposes. See this commentary: http://www.boycott-riaa.com/article/7289 Wonder why they want to hire a Republican lobbyist :-) It will be interesting to see how it all pans out.
