Gee, I never thought that there is somebody interested in my posting about Indonesian singers/musicians. Anggun, or Anggun Cipta Sasmi for her full name, is a great singer but I'm not so sure that she also sings Jazz. She started her career in the late 80's and early 90's singing Rock (I was 11 or 12). Her songs were so popular at that time and she made many hits. Some songs became my favorite, such as, Bayangan Ilusi (The Shadow of Illusion), Mimpi ((A) Dream), and Tua- tua Keladi (I don't know the exact term in English, but the meaning is an old man who never realizes that he is too old but acts like a teenager - in this case, chasing young girls...:-)). Sometimes, I sang it with my friends at school, loudly, till my teacher got angry..... :-) A few years later, she moved to France, married to a Frenchman, and built her international career there. Since she moved there, I never heard a news of her anymore until in early 2000's, she went back to Indonesia for a while - a rumor said that she had divorced - took a rest, then went to another country again, for a new album (I have no clue about it). She has a 'killer' voice, yes, indeed. Is she gorgeous? Well, frankly, I don't know though to be honest I've ever had a crush with a girl who looks like her a long, long time ago (I've forgot it), so, let's say, she is gorgeous. If you think she's beautiful, yes she is. IMHO, just like an Indonesian proverb says, beautiful or not depends on the eyes and feelings of the person who looks at... (e.g. man, woman, painting, car, etc.). That's from me. Thanks again! Desianto F. W. __________________________________ Do you Yahoo!? The New Yahoo! Search - Faster. Easier. What do you think if Helen Hunt plays Basia character in her bio movie? I think both of them have almost similar look, just change the color of her hair. Desianto F.
