Actually, Roach was in one of his strenuous moods when he attached that label on me. The guy was only trying to communicate his own feelings of inadequacy, even though he had developed this list to a level far beyond that which Basia deserved given her productivity as an artist. I had attempted to defend her, as I recall, and he called my bluff. Ergo: I was on drugs. Jeff has very few defenders here on this list, but I include myself among them, even tho I may be mistaken. However, I was never induced to buy a thing from him during his liquidation sale, because I knew that following his near-death accident he was, in fact, the one on drugs. Fans are fickle, and really can only vote regarding who is their favorite guitarist, i.e. who is most popular. It would be the vote of other musicians, especially other guitarists, that could show who is the best guitarist, or more accurately, the best guitarist to work with. He sings adequately; I really like his vocal version of Brubeck's "Take Five." But, I'd really rather listen to his guitar playing than his singing. The word riot used to express things like that because - - maybe - if you make something really, really funny, the persons around you laugh A LOT and react crazily just like a 'riot'. Desianto F. If someone ,e.g., likes how Peter White plays his guitar and it suits his or her personality and preferences, he or she will consider that Peter White is the best, and vice versa. One's preferences and feelings are different to other's. Just like me. Maybe, if anybody of you listen to 'Love Comes' by SpyroGyra, you will probably feel somewhat romantic or simply happy but for me, this song makes me almost burst into tears because I feel, not anybody else feels, that there is a sad expression behind the guitar and sax. So, which one between Larry Carlton and Peter White is the best, let's say, both of them are two of the best guitarists of the world..... Desianto F.
