American Airlines has a pamphlet giving audio information for the different channels on the plane, and there was a short feature on Basia attached to the "smooth sounds" channel. No useful information about any current activity, but it was interesting to see her being featured. BTW, there was only one Basia song in rotation on the channel -- "Until You Come Back to Me" from LWNY, which is a good cover, but not nearly as distinctive as many of her original works, IMO. - -- Ben Combee Techwood Broadcasting Foundation, Austin Bureau Chief ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 11 May 2003 02:47:37 -0700 From: stevemak Subject: Re: Basia spotting on American Airlines what happen to her now? I think that since it's a cover of an old Stevie Wonder classic, many producers feel safer with it. - -----Original Message----- From: owner-basia@smoe.org [mailto:owner-basia@smoe.org]On Behalf Of Ben Combee Sent: Sunday, May 11, 2003 4:27 AM To: basia@smoe.org Subject: Basia spotting on American Airlines I was flying back to Austin from San Francisco today, connecting in Dallas, and I was on a 767 for the first leg of the trip. Might be interesting if more people check her out that way. - --Leslie __________________________________ Do you Yahoo!? The New Yahoo! Search - Faster. Easier. Interesting to me that so many pick "Until You come back to me" as a LEAST Favorite Basia song...I love it. Maybe it's just easier to sing along with than the Aretha Franklin version -- I mean WHO can sing along with Aretha and not sound terrible?
