I think she is also one of very few Polish singers album of whom I have seen abroad. Last Summer in Portugal I've noticed her other album in Portugl in Fnac stores (music and oter things). Subject: Question degree in physics Hello friends! Several months ago (in July 2002, as far as I can remember), I was browsing around to find out some information about Basia. There was a site by Tom Danehy (I'm sure that it's still there) at http://www.tucsonweekly.com/tw/05-23-96/danehy.html that drew my attention. It's said that "Basia Trzetrzelewska is a Polish-born jazz singer with a degree in physics". Maybe some of you have already known this qoute, or even have discussed in this mail digest (so, sorry if I talk about this topic again). At first, I felt that it is a great info. Later, my curiosity popped-up and began to ask myself some questions. Hope that some of you can give me some info. What do you think about "degree in physics"? Is it a degree from a university or college? If that so, well, it's no wonder why she is smart. I myself never understand Physics because I can't remember the complicated formulas well (except F=m.a and a few others..:-(). If "degree in physics" means that she is good looking, well, it's even better because it means that she was born to be smart (and beautiful). My opinion, she is both smart and beautiful (inside and outside), the type of "hard to find" woman in these recent years. Usually, people say that a good looking person (woman and man) is not so smart and a smart person is not so good looking. One of my lecturers told me a story. She said, once upon a time, there were two men; one of them was good looking and had a magnificent body but not so smart, the other was an ugly man but very smart. When both of them met together, they had a serious discussion about their conditions. The ugly man wanted to be a good looking man - besides smart and the good looking man wanted to be a smart man - besides good looking. Shortly, they made an agreement; the smart man taught the good looking man in order to be smart, and the good looking man trained the smart man how to be a good looking man. After some time, the good looking man was not stupid anymore and the smart man looked more good looking. Both of them were so happy. However, both of them were too fascinated with their new condition. The smart man was too happy with his new charming look, soon he forgot to exercise his brain and the good looking man was too happy with his new sharp mind, he began to forget exercising his body. It didn't take a long time that the man who used to be smart later became a good looking man with not so sharp mind and the man who used to be good looking later became an ugly smart man. That's the story from my lecturer. But don't worry! (and be happy :-)) The stereotype of good looking is not smart enough is not always true. Well, that's all from me. Comments? Critiques? Info? Please do! I need them all to answer my curiosity. BTW, I'm new here. So, hello all! Hope my English is good enough. Yahoo!
