I love the amateur reviews on Amazon. This guy is a riot. Check out his equally hilarious review of TSI too. Note: I'm not laughing at his English, I'm just greatly entertained by his colorful use of language. And lyric quoting. - --Leslie - ---------------- London Warsaw New York Semarang, June 25, 2002 Reviewer: Desianto Fajar W. (see more about me) from Semarang, Central Java Indonesia Here comes the second album from Basia Trzetrzelewska. London Warsaw New York is a great success. Here, I want to make a review on the songs in it. Enjoy! Cruising for Bruising Nice song. Still has the 80's atmosphere but also has 90's atmosphere as well. This song teaches us to be a good lover. Before we get the best, there always, and will be a 'bruising' time, to make us become more mature. We have to know when to start and when to stop. There will be a second chance and true love will last forever. Best Friends Breaking up again and again? Well, don't hate your ex lovers then. They have fulfilled our past days with unforgettable, sometimes silly, memories and made us fly to the moon, so, it is unfair if you hate them just because you have different ways. If not lovers, we are still remain best friends! Brave New Hope This state-of-the-art song is magnificent. Basia's voice is unbelievable! Strong and clear from the low to the high. This song has made a great unforgettable pattern. Several years later, many female singers tried to imitate this song but they failed to reach Basia's quality. Well, I believe you know the singers that I mean. Baby You're Mine This is the song when I first knew Basia, somewhere in 1990. Soon I forgot it because I was still searching 'my kind of music' at that time. Years passed by, but I never met what I looked for until in 1996, I accidentally watched the video clip of 'Baby You're Mine' on TV. This event made my memory flew back to the sweetest tune I've ever heard in 1990. So I keep in my mind her name, the title, and her face just in case I found it in a music store. Lucky for me, until now, Basia's face is always aired once a week on a TV station in Indonesia without realizing that it is Basia. So, every time I see her face on TV, I say, "Hello Basia! How are you today." Ordinary People Nice blend between Jazz and Latin. One thing that I really like is the sound of the accordion in this song. Well, Peter White has done a great job. Reward Another birthday song from Basia. She taught us that the most important gifts in our lives are our parents. Although they are maybe so far away, or can't give something that we want, or so strict to us, they have given their best love to us. Different parents have different ways to show their love. Without them, we wouldn't be in this world. So, let's say, "I have you, a lover and a friend, you are everything I need, you are the sun, the air I breathe," to our beloved mother and father. I believe, you would like to hear those words from your children, someday. Until You Come Back to Me No comment for this song. I believe you are familiar with this song. Copernicus A dangerous song for the drivers and riders. This song is very energetic and encouraging. The attractive dance beat makes you dance. Don't listen to this song when you're driving, or even worse, riding. I have tried it on my motorbike and I was almost involved in an accident! Not an Angel Have you ever heard Basia persuade someone? Well, you have to listen to this song. This song somewhat has a seductive tone in a cheerful way. I never have any idea that Basia could be that 'bad'. Take Him Back Rachel Shoo bee doob, doob, doob.... An interesting opening in this song by blending Latin style and 'Basia-Nova'. Well, that's all. If you're new to Basia, I suggest you to start from this album, or Clear Horizon, which one is easier to get. For Basia lovers, this album is a must! Leslie - This is awesome, thanks for pointing it out! And I admire his creative efforts to express himself. Very inventive. I especially love this comments: "I accidentally watched the video clip of 'Baby You're Mine'". Yikes! And I really love his observation about 'Basia-Nova'. He may have coined a new term!
