If it ain't sold out by the time I dig up the money, I'll be there. It's my son's birthday, I hope he understands!! Dimwitted Moose and Flying Squirrel. Definitely different than Basia, though; Basia's doing >(did?) original work, while Ms. Krall seems to be in love with the standards. > >Grem >Yahoo! With all the Basia fans out there, how many of you have collected Basia stuff(well, maybve not her underwear!) that would be deemed collectible? There's an RIAA Gold record award for one of her songs on Ebay right now. I would think that was extrremely collectable!! Honestly, the last one went for $110.00 or so. This "Kingjelly" is a business trying to make a profit...the last time he posted it (about 2 months ago, didn't sell because he wants too much $$$) the "Buy It Now" was $500, now it's $400... I'll consider $100 or so for it. But obviously the guy's reserve is still very high. The previous gold record (which mind you they make a LOT of them as promotional materials for radio stations and record/music stores not just those given to the actual artists) was sold from a collector to collector so the pricing was much more reasonable. Plus as a long time collector of things both Basia and beyond, something is only worth what people are willing to pay for them. Personally, I've amassed a lot of the press kits and concert books... plus some of the concert t-shirts. My best Basia item (IMHO) is "The Sweetest Illusion" litho, numbered by the artist and signed by Basia... I finally got it framed and it's in my bedroom. Have fun collecting and such! - -- Beverly Martin Max Wellhouse wrote: > > With all the Basia fans out there, how many of you have collected > Basia stuff(well, maybve not her underwear!) that would be deemed > collectible? The only "collectable" I have is a signed album cover... she signed her full last name! It was a gift so I don't know how much it cost, but I had the impression they had to win a bidding war on EBay.... It's only been 7 months... kinda slow, aren't ya? (ha) And you're very welcome. I had forgotten all about it and it was good to reread it. (BTW, I've since gone to Ground Zero... very eerie place, what with the window blinds hanging twisted up in the trees and the big "nothing" where you know buildings are supposed to be. Definitely makes one stop and think.) Jacki ------------------------------ End of basia-digest V7 #66 **************************
