Not that Madonna was necessarily upset. Why would she e upset, when she had the "Sex" book a few years ago and she has done nude/sex scenes in movies. Vanessa Williams and Vanna White both had very explicit photos taken of them before they were famous. They were upset when they were published. I can't have much sympathy for them. Ann Margaret did a nude/sex scene in a movie several years ago (Magic?) and then got upset when it went to cable. People saw it in theatres, so what was the difference? Oh well. ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 5 Mar 2002 12:09:45 est From: whroberts@iquest.net Subject: Re: Madonna and electronics >>For all of us that love Basia and her "image," what makes us think that >she's been a perfect little angel? Basia has just been doing her best to produce good music. If Madonna had been doing only that, I would probably appreciate her "art" more. I have to add that I heard Madonna say one of the most pretentious things ever on a stage. "It's about the music. It's always been about the music." C'mon. It's about whatever sells. Sex sells. ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 5 Mar 2002 10:22:00 -0800 (PST) From: Leslie Brown Subject: Get over it! Will everyone just STOP! ;-) Yes, I have been voting with my 'Delete' button, but nevertheless, I AM BLOODY SICK OF MADONNA! Those of you who think she's an artist will go on thinking she's an artist, those of you think she's a porn queen will continue to, and those of you still back in 1990 will think she's a slut. Alright? Let it go! And who said Basia was a saint anyway? No canonization on this ML, please. ;-) I don't think that sweetness and light was ever part of her image anyway, just what a lot of you are projecting onto her. IMHO, her image was simply *being,* not being overly contrived. Sigh. Okay, I feel better. - --Leslie, ranting--with love! Try FREE Yahoo! Madonna didn't get upset about being exposed after she was famous. She loved the publicity. She did get upset that her Sex book wasn't properly adored. Sure, she had a hard time early on in NYC...like every other aspiring starlet. ----- Original Message ----- From: whroberts@iquest.net To: Navaira ; basia@smoe.org Sent: Tuesday, March 05, 2002 9:04 AM Subject: Re: Madonna and electronics >>By the way, the naked photos of Madonna in Playboy and Penthouse were made >years before she became famous (these days she had to live on food she found >on the garbage bins) and published, oh well, years AFTER she became famous, >and it's not as if someone asked her permission to do that. > I'm always amused when women get naked pictures taken of them, and get upset when they are published later, especially when the woman becomes famous. Madonna has zero regret, and if she ever says she does, it'll probably be in anticipation of some album called "regrets" or some other marketing trick. - - Steve > -----Original Message----- > From: owner-basia@smoe.org [mailto:owner-basia@smoe.org]On Behalf Of > Catherine > Sent: Tuesday, March 05, 2002 1:37 PM > To: whroberts@iquest.net; basia@smoe.org > Subject: Re: Madonna and electronics > > > > Jeez, did you ever see her porno videos, or her Sex book? > Madonna didn't get upset about being exposed after she was > famous.
