I'll say! I, too, have very eclectic taste in music, from Scarlatti, Bach, Mozart, Beethoven, and Stravinsky; through Coltrane, Monk, Kruppa, Brubeck, and Miles; also Satie, Andreas Vollenweider, Jean-Luc Ponty, David Sanborn, Spyro Gyra, Michael Franks, The Manhattan Transfer; including The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, The Beach Boys, CCR, AC/DC, Led Zeppelin, Frank Zappa, Billy Joel, The Eagles, America; to The B-52's, U2, REM, The Wolfgang Press, Butthole Surfers, Sugar Ray, The Cranberries, Luscious Jackson, The Crystal Method, and Poe; but also including Frank Yankovic, Nickel Creek, Carly Simon, and Joni Mitchel. And with all that diversity going for me, I have to marry someone who likes country :-) Actually, we both *love* Basia, and played "Baby, You're Mine" as our first dance as husband and wife. I always thought that song was very strong, not in a Top 40 sense, but lyrically. I always wondered if she was singing that song about a friend, herself, or the way she figured it would always be. I always thought the same about Perfect Mother, that she was writing it about herself, at 40 seeing herself as 20 again. For both songs, I think it was clever that you have to think about how it was intended. Jim P. ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 28 Jan 2002 21:01:52 -0500 From: "Paul S. I came upon it by accident as I was driving home from my fencing class, I was fliping through the radio stations and I heard "Waters of March" being sung. It was not Basia singing, it was some ohter female artist singing. This version that I heard was different from the original, besides the fact it wasn't Basia singing, whoever sung only used percusion and an alto and tenor sax, instead of keyboardes and whatever else Basia used. Overal, the version I heard was okay.
