Majewicz" Subject: Re: Basia Withdrawal Hi Larry and all, I'm getting through these Basia-less days by listening to some "new-to-me" artists: Laura Fygi and Diana Krall. Laura is Dutch and has a marvelous voice. A couple of albums I particularly like are "Watch What Happens" and "The Lady Wants To Know". Both are full of standards with lush arrangements. Perfect for those cold nights by the fire... Of course Diana Krall has been around for some time, but I only recently discovered her via mp3's from usenet. I love her voice, too, and she happens to be a marvelous piano player. Her latest, "The Look Of Love", is getting a lot of play in my car. Guitarist Joyce Cooling is great too. (I envy all those SoCal folks on the list. I'd love to be attending the Catalina Island Jazz Fest...) Got Peter White's "Glow". It's good, but I'm not sure I like it more than "Perfect Moment" or "Caravan Of Dreams". I'll have to listen to it some more.
