Using host based email is also a good security measure especially for mailing lists, since these accounts are virtually anonymous. On the other hand if you use your local ISP's mail servers, you are advertising your approximate location, as well as your personal ISP, every time you send an email. Then every time you download email messages directly to your PC from your ISP, you are putting your system at risk. Every time open your email program it downloads messages from ISP to your C: drive. Any of these messages can contain a virus or script worm. And there is a lot of nastiness out there. I received (10) infected messages in a single day last month, on my yahoo email. All 10 messages were from a mailing list, and were being inadvertantly spread by ML members. Since the messages were on yahoo servers, I was able to detect the viruses and delete the messages, instead having them downloaded to my C: drive. I know several people who have had their systems compromised over the last couple of months; two of them had to reformat their C: drive and start from scratch. I've been on the lookout, but still no sign of a label or release date for her new CD, unfortunately. One thing is for certain~~ we Basia fans have learned how to be patient. We must have faith. Remember~ it's always darkest before the dawn.
