I went to the local Borders Bookstore looking for a particular book, when I found they didn't have it, I wandered over to the CD section. I found a CD single containing remixes by Bebel Gilberto, whom we've discussed on this list before. Interesting stuff. I also found a CD titled Bossa Cuca Nova - a mix of new and classic Bossa Nova tunes arranged in a very modern way. It contains a couple of mixes of "Meditacao" with the great Wanda Sa singing. (She was the vocalist on Brazil '65 - the, IMHO, Sergio Mendes album to have because of Sa's vocals and the guitar playing of Rosinha de Valenca.) Too bad Basia is not on either album (There, list purists, I've mentioned her name twice.) un abrazo, juan ------------------------------ End of basia-digest V6 #34 **************************
