Sonically, WOW. Excellent choice--in fact it's my #1 for the year. I don't think I'll ever experience "burn out" on any Steely Dan, especially this one. The rest of my top 5 goes something like this: 2. Doobie Brothers "Sibling Rivalry"--As a Doobies fan, I expected it to be good, but I didn't expect that I would listen to it as much as I have, like a good book you can't put down. 3. Sade "Lovers Rock"--If you can find the Target two-disc version, it's well worth it. (Sade pulls off fine performances of one song from each of her previous albums on the bonus disc.) 4. Carly Simon "Bedroom Tapes"--Not as good as her last album of new material ("Letters Never Sent"), but nevertheless a fine collection of songs. 5. Paul Simon "You're the One"--Stripped of the blatant world music references of the late '80s, Simon is back to '70s form. Well, let's hope the new year brings a new release from Basia. We haven't heard from her for over a year now ("So Nice")! Speaking of which, I have FINALLY added this single to my reviews page. "Music" - Madonna 2. "What Do You Say" - Reba McEntire 3. "Only Time" - Enya 4. "Chained To You" - Savage Garden 5. "1000 Oceans" - Tori Amos These are my picks for "sub Basia" scoring. I'm rather disturbed that Basia seems to be gone, but, the Music must go on.... Love to all, Stefan "Who's Afraid Of Madonna?"------RETURNING SOON! In Nashville, on Music Row, Reba built this huge studio complex called "Star Stuck Entertainment". Which is fun to say if you pretend to have her voice accent. Anyway, She wanted to put a helicopter landing pad on the roof which is about 3 stories up. Music Row is to my knowledge about 1 square mile or so of lawyers, record labels, killer recording studios and lawyers. I was once on a work gig across the street and when I would smoke, I stood outside and looked at this Parthenonistic structure being erected. I understand that a lot of folks in that business got po'ed at the idea of a helicopter landing pad situated almost dead center in one of the worlds greatest art camps. Recording studios and helicopter landing pads are two words hardly used in the same sentence. that is why "Star Struck Entertainment" does not have a helicopter landing pad.
