Looking at CDNOW I see two versions of STP: the first release in 1998 (available in cassette only (?) for $4.95 at CDNOW). Then there is a 2000 release of STP which is available on CD. I saw no difference in track listings between the the 98 and 00 versions, from #1: Love is Stonger Than Pride" thru the final track #10: Siempre Hay Esperanza. I have been hearing "Paradise" and "Nothing can come between us" for at least one year on The Oasis in DFW, and probably longer. Comments, anyone? Anyway, the important thing is that I don't have STP, but definitely want it; the music is great! I'll be at Best Buy tomorrow looking at computer stuff, so I'll pick up a copy of STP then, as well as some more Sade music which I have been intending to get. Sade is a very attractive lady in addition to the wonderful voice and style. Thanks to all for the CD tip and reminder. The weirdest thing happened with me and this CD. I wholly expected to not like it. Sade alternately irritates me and makes me hum all day, and for the past few months the irritant end of things was taking over. Not helping was the fact that there were all sorts of mixed reviews on contemporaryjazz.com, and so I went to Tower and listened on the headphones to an album I was prepared to hate. Well. Call it being in a sentimental mood, call it being at Tower at 11:30 at night- I couldn't tear myself from this CD in any easy way, and even listened to some tracks all the way through. Even the single, which I though was lame after I heard it on radio. What a song! So for a while I was sucked into the Sade Zone, against my will. It's not the rehash of SmoothTabooParadiseOrdinaryPride people had been hoping for. But go into it minus the preconceived notions and you will be amazed. It's a great album. I wholeheartedly recommend it even though I haven't put it to the Repeated Listening Test, not having owned it yet (I know...) And as for the mixed reviews, well, sounds like a case of The Sweetest Illusion to me, and you know how I love that album. - --Leslie Yahoo! Shopping - Thousands of Stores.
