Ottmar Liebert was the opener for the London Warsaw New York tour. Sounds like that was when they were thinking of. I don't think OL was recording in the T&T time. (correct me if I'm wrong, not the raving OL fan) Spyro Gyra was the Sweetest Illusion tour and, as far as my knowledge goes they were the only opener that performed in conjunction with Basia (Jay Beckenstein, anyway), as opposed to just opening for her. OL was on Epic at the time of their tour. Isn't it amazing to think there was a time when Epic has Basia, OL, Hiroshima, and probably some others on their label? An era long passed... - --Leslie Yahoo! Shopping - Thousands of Stores. Ottmar Liebert was the opening act for Basia in Dallas back around 1990. I agree with the person who likes Liebert. I have been enjoying his "Nouveau Flamenco" CD for years. I purchased it before Liebert toured with Basia. I was quite surptised to see him perform the opening act, but I certainly was not disappointed. Hi gang! Good call Jim on Liebert in 1990... here's the answer to the original question from the man himself: "If it was the T&T tour (1987 0r 1988) then I was not on it and it was definitely not Ottmar. If it was the London Warsaw tour (1990) then it probably was Ottmar. ....PW" Hope I'm not too late on delivering the answer...haven't kept up the past few days. Happy Turkey!!!
