I've done a bit of business on half.com, both as a buyer and a seller. So far its been pretty reliable. The biggest issue is that you don't get your goods sent from one central point. Instead, the sellers all mail out their items separately after your deal has closed. To add topicality, I see that someone is selling the gold edition of Time and Tide for $5.97. Yow! Its a very nice package, although I couldn't tell any sound differences between it and my original copy. - ----- Original Message ----- From: "Jim Clary" To: Sent: Wednesday, October 11, 2000 8:10 PM Subject: Re: A new greatest hits collection ?. > > Diana, > There are some good deals on used CD's at this site. > Have you done business with them? > Are they reliable? ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 12 Oct 2000 15:29:36 -0700 (PDT) From: Jim Clary Subject: Re: A new greatest hits collection ?. Half.com seems like a good place to look when you want one or several songs from a CD, but are less interested in the remainder of the CD and don't want to pay the full price. That way, you can simply rip what you like to your hard drive, and keep the CD as backup. Ben, thanks for the feedback; Diana, thanks for letting us know about this site. I'll give it a shot. One afterthought, slightly off-topic: I have a separate credit card that I use strictly for E-commerce. I have a $300 credit limit on it. This is more than enough for my needs, since I only buy small-ticket items (like CD's) on the net. This is a security measure and works for me; someone who buys airline tickets etc would obviously need a higher limit.
