What a wonderful evening of music! Tina is everything as advertised - full of energy with the best looking legs for a 60 year old I've ever seen :) She played for two hours. Her band was first rate. The female backing singers added to the show, not turning it into a dance recital. The highlight for me was when she did a remake of The Beatles' "Help". She turned it into a blues number, and with the sax and Hammond organ, it sounded like the end of a Saturday Night Live show. Everything was very professional and well-rehersed. Lionel Richie played for an hour - could you ask for a better opening act? He did all his hits, and was a classy performer. If you folks get a chance to see this tour, it will be worth your while. I notice the new Jay Beckenstein CD comes out soon. Is there still a Basia collaboration in the works for this CD, or did "Springtime Laughter" preempt it? Looking for someone who knows . . . - -- Thom Herlin Ratings & Reviews: http://www.diac.com/~herlin/ratings ------------------------------ End of basia-digest V5 #59 **************************
