Arghh! I just sent the following note to a Ebay auctioneer that one of the Basia Video collection purchasers had noticed was auctioning off copies of the collection. If you are interested in seeing what is happening, please go to http://cgi.ebay.com/aw-cgi/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=281887085 I hope the list agrees with my stand here... I don't like seeing other fans ripped off, and I also don't like seeing proper credit not given. - ----- I just looked at your auction; #281887085. Your collection of videos sounds very similar to what I've been offering for cost from BasiaWeb (http://basia.techwood.org). While I do not mind further distribution of the compilation I put together, especially if you're duplicating it as a VHS tape from the CD-ROM, I would appreciate you letting people know the original source of the videos which is the hard work of me and the Basia mailing list in finding all these appearances and getting them put into one source. I'm glad its actually a list member, not a random bootlegger out there. I hope we can settle things peacefully -- my last message was a bit terse since I didn't know who was on the other end. We all know the Basia Collection was only available to us because of his dedication to the cause. I for one would be a bit relieved to discover the seller of pirated goods was in fact a bootlegger instead of a Basia-Lister. The latter could hardly be expected to wish to profit from this affiliation, at the expense of Ben's best intentions...... However, the seller might well be more specific regarding the exact format of the material he is auctioning. This would be in line with the principals of eBay selling. Since I completed my tranasction with Paul, he left me feedback and I presume I will have a video soon to be able to compare and contrast the contents. - -- Beverly Martin pineking@gwi.net wrote: > I think Ben is the last person to be expressing apologies, here.
