Real close to Joanna Lee. Hi Joanna.!!! Been on the list since about Jan. 1999 . I discovered Basia when I bought a Sampler from radio station KKSF FM in San Francisco in 1990 . The very first song I ever heard : Astrud Lamentably KKSF has gone into the hands of the evil corporate empire and has never been the same since last year. I'm sure Joanna Lee would agree. For whatever reason I did not get around to hearing a whole album until 1992 . The first album I ever heard was London, Warsaw ,NY. I took it out at the public library of all places. Soon after I began acquiring every recording I could get my hands on. LOVED HER VIDEO . Favorite video: Baby You're Mine , because it shows how attractive she is . What beautiful shoulders and skin she has. Saw our Diva at the Concord Pavilion, same concert that Joanna Lee attended. Just a wonderful concert. Just wished the band could have played 2 or 3 more encore's . I feel like I really missed out on Basia's appearances on Letterman, Arsenio, and Leno. The streaming clips from the wonderful Ben Combee give us a nice taste of the real appearances. Like everyone else I am yearning and yearning ( no pun intended) for the next full CD. Favorite songs: Just about all of them. But to single out a few. Reward, Simple Pleasures, Olive Tree, Drunk on Love, Promises, Astrud,Waters of March, the live versions of Baby You're Mine and Reward. Angels Blush (great little Christmas song). Third time Lucky and of course Time and Tide. Are other adult music fans as obsessed as we seem to be about any other artist? It kind of reminds me of Elvis fans or Grateful Dead fans. Bye for now. - -----Original Message----- From: Joanna Lee & Larry Churchill To: basia@smoe.org Date: Friday, November 12, 1999 3:57 AM Subject: Re: Roll call > >Hey, fellow members! > >Joanna Lee (leechurchill@juno.com) > >Age 37, married w/ stepkids > >Reside in Oakland CA (across the bay from San Francisco) > >Event planning consultant/student of court interpretation >(Spanish/English) > >Been on the list about 1 1/2 years > >Discovered Basia via Matt Bianco ("Get out of your lazy bed") in Tokyo >around 1987 or 1988, then back in California in 1988, heard lots of "T&T" >on the radio and got the album...and every one since! For some reason the server will not post any messages I send which contain the major domo address in the message text. The problem seems to be that you are on basia-digest list not the basia list. Try setting up a 'Block Address.' on your email. I know a lot of email providers give you that ability to block troublesome addresses. But I don't think it gives anyone a right to have a tantrum in front of everyone on the list. If you have a problem, please state it politely, or get in contact with the operators of the list. I see no reason for anyone to go postal to everyone on this list when we, as a whole, are not responsible for such issues. I just people who have problems leaving the list to be polite, and we will be polite, also. raburabu joe ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 17 Nov 1999 19:43:13 -0800 From: Bob & Janine Hester Subject: Re: Getting off the list *L* Now Joe, at the risk of sounding rude....
