Well, lessee... You have Farenheit, Celcius, and Kelvin scales... TOTAL absence of heat - That'd be zero degrees, Kelvin scale, Absolute Zero, like interstellar space. Yes Jeff, that's about as cold as it's ever gonna get. Amazing how much Chem 101 I can remember, considering I've never used it in 25 years... Hold on! I just thought of someone! Gérson in São Paulo. A professional chemist, on our ML!! Gérson! Is any of this correct?? Inquiring minds want to know... It is Basia outside today and it is supposed to be twice as Basia tomorrow. How Basia will it be? or Somebody on the list stated that the next Basia cd will be called "Duets" there was even a release date??? yes, no, help me. please? (I build high end audio equipment for a living and got to listen to Basia all day at work on our newest design amplifier. It is called the Jasper III, 300 watts a channel very high resolution, fast, and believe it or not no DC offset, .00001DC very low eh! we also build two other models the Emerald and the Sapphire as well as A killer stereo preamplifier and loudspeakers, so I quess today you can call me Mr. Lucky) I wonder what Basia has for a playback system? The scheduled release date in Japan is tomorrow (10/21/99). - -Kevin soundman@inetarena.com "tom, kelly & jordan" wrote: > Somebody on the list stated that the next Basia cd will be called "Duets" > there was even a release date??? > yes, no, help me. please? > ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 20 Oct 1999 21:05:59 -0500 From: "Jim Clary" Subject: Re: Mr. Lucky fails the test I would be interested in hearing both versions. Taro and Basia sounded jam-up together on this project, IMHO. I would love to hear some more collaboration between those two. Question, regarding the "original" version, as heard in the US way back in the sixties: Was it an instrumental, or did Astrud sing the song? I can vaguely remember hearing this song, and/or an instrumental version, all those years ago. The Taro/Basia version is *vastly* changed, speeded way up, and much improved, again IMHO. Any feedback would be appreciated. Thanks in advance. I've heard innumerable instrumental versions of it over the years, including one wonderfully cheesy version on Capitol's "Ultra-Lounge" series. Both styles have their charms, though. :^) - -Kevin soundman@inetarena.com Jim Clary wrote: > > I would be interested in hearing both versions. Re: The science test-- you did not fail, because you were not given all of the information. You were not told the temperature scale (i.e. Farenheit, Celcius, Kelvin) so no way could you give a correct answer. Also, please forgive the orbiter wisecrack. I am still amazed that Lockheed designed their part in English scale, while NASA designed their part in Metric, then the two parties were able to fit the spacecraft together and launch it, and it made it all the way to Mars before the design (ahem)inconsistencies became apparent. It would be comical except for the fate of our $150 mil orbiter, remnants of which are now believed to be in orbit around the sun. > It is Basia outside today and it is supposed to be twice as Basia tomorrow. > How Basia will it be? Answer: 24 hours straight. Maybe one break for Ciani "Pianissimo"...
