Don't think so.) The formula on Amplified Heart was wearing thin which Ben realised himself, as he said, EBTG sounded on this album as if they were taking a mickey off themselves. Is it me or Jim and others simply despise the music on the basis of it being generated through a computer? Joe added to EBTG theme: >I must confer with Jim. "Walking Wounded" sucked. That was such a >let down from "Amplified Heart." Oh NO!!! :) I was disappointed with Amplified Heart; partly because my copy sounds like the sound engineer was very drunk and partly because it was nothing like Missing (Todd Terry mix) which enticed me. Then WW came out and I was on cloud 9. It's always the greatest thing for me when a musician I know does something different and the new face is better than the previous one! And, as I always say, I love dance music... I felt that it was released in a >rush to capitalize on the success of "Amplified Heart," to use the >formula that made "Missing" so famous over and over and over. Those >drum tracks totally ruined the album, except for a couple of songs, >namely "Mirror Ball." But the only song that sounds remotely like Missing, is Wrong (Todd Terry mix). And Mirrorball has the most personal sounding lyric they have delivered... that is, until the new Hatfield 1980. >Don't worry, though--doing all dance wouldn't be Basia's style. I wouldn't mind. :) Hey, I generated entire digest with one email! :) PS. Ashoke, I'm really sorry, I forgot your postal address _and_ the email... so I use this opportunity to ask again. We don't need any more impending doom. Remember the 'this is Basia's last album debate? Aaargh! "So Nice" is eveidence that she is still interested in making music, she just needed something new. I'm still dying to know who this producer is. I'm sure you all have a good idea who *I'd* like to see as producer, but that's just me and all... Now, as for the whole "Basia dance" thing- lest we forget this is hardly the first time she has been on a dance track! Her own work has been remixed for years- most notable ones being 'Cruising for Bruisinfg' "UYCBTM" (yes I'm being lazy), and 'Drunk on Love." So why should anyone be shocked at the new development? And, where the heck is this Jay Beckenstein solo release thing? Year's almost over, people! Darn good thing for you, buddy, otherwise I'd have to hunt you down. ;) > Is it me or > Jim and others simply despise the music on the basis > of it being generated > through a computer? The only problem with that logic is that if that were the case no one would like Time and Tide, London Warsaw New York, Clear Horizon for that matter, and the upcoming album. And that just wouldn't make sense. > Oh, exactly. It sounds different and similar to the > studio mix at the same > time. Fabulous. Kevin rules! On the same vein, anyone hear the Light of the World album? Listenig to MP3 clips on Richard Bull's website as we speak. Mad crazy horns. as a group, Incognito is way better though. And Basia is 40, and the album was supposed to be out a year ago. Sigh. (My theory? Maternity leave. Oh, and the pesky bug of uninspiration.) (And Sony Music beiong a pain in the ass) Speaking of pesky bugs, I have one. Again. *cough* > Well, once I made someone unsubscribe... don't want > this to happen again!
