And I vote "Yes" for "So Nice." A great nostalgic song done in typical Basia style. By now we should all know she was greatly influenced by those songs of the 60's. Keep it up, girl! >Some news from France. >Here a site about Basia, that mentioned she lives sometimes >in...Saint-Tropez and her favorite car is a ... Let's get that letter-writing campaign going, folks! "Basia, dear, when is that new album coming out? We miss you! XXOO!!" The web site: I checked out the site. Very interesting. This site is a Yahoo profile. Saint-Tropez is on the French Riviera, in the southeast of France. I was able to look up the site via Yahoo's search function, without using a link. I find it a bit strange that our somewhat reclusive artist would include both first and last names, as well as two Email addresses, and the level of personal information, on such a public profile. I am reluctant to post this level of information on Yahoo about myself. Do you see where I am leading here, folks? It looks to me as if *anyone* could have set up this profile. On the other hand, perhaps the profile is legit; it certainly can not be disproved. The Montreal University connection is a mystery to me as well. I wish, but considering her privacy and how she likes it, why the heck would she fill out something so mass-mailed as a Yahoo profile? And why would Basia of all people be on Hotmail? And yet, I am ashamed to admit that I got so excited at the thought of Basia actually being accessible that I wrote a fan letter and sent it to the Yahoo address. Don't know what I was thinking, except that it looked like a legitimate site to me at the time. Also, I was ducking into the house when I was supposed to be working and checked my e-mail, therefore was in too much of a hurry to THINK. If any of you get a response from "Basia", I would say ignore it or tell the sender to bug off. (Watch, it really WILL be Basia and she'll say, "Gee, my fans are so rude! Think I'll cancel that tour and release the disco album anyway." ) ~MG ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 13 Sep 1999 22:09:51 -0400 From: "Paul Fish" Subject: Re: "So nice" and Basia's e-mail address No need to feel that ashamed...I not only emailed Basia at the yahoo address, I added her to my contact list...oh the shame...the shame... - --- "Stay sane inside insanity." - Columbia, "The Rocky Horror Picture Show" PAUL S.
