Many thanks Meg, good luck too Ray. Well, I have a lot of olive trees to hug this summer !!!!... So did any of you guys buy the CD yet? I did that night actually. It's very interesting, she is in a different context than normally- its a definite Spyro Gyra song and very much not a Basia song (whereas Just Another Day could pass as a Basia song if it really wanted to) Basia almost becomes another instrument, really- very subdued and I have to say not as vibrant as we expect. But that's okay, because the track is very nice. Just different. It really serves as evidence for Basia's versatility as a vocalist- on my way home I played the Spyro track, then listened to BOB. Light years difference. Whatta lady. The rest of the CD ain't too bad either. The song came along at a good time. I needed something happy. My grandmother had a stroke Thursday, and is having more problems with her dementia since (this is the short version). So if you have any spare prayers to send her way it would be nice.:) Now, on a lighter note, I'm peeved. Peter White and Spyro are both in my area tomorrow and I can't be there! Crap. Well, I'm digging it in spirit anyway. - --Leslie, putting on a hapy face ^_^ -see? *one more thing- did anyone find it odd that there was no statement in the Spyro liner notes saying "Basia appears courtesy of Epic Records" or somehting? Sorry, just my attention to detail working overtime again. **one one more thing- Kevin, I am sooooo sorry about the scans not being there yet- NEXT WEEK you will get them, I swear!!! :) _________________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? My father suffered a stroke six years ago so I know what you're going through. Sorry to say I have not purchased the new Spyro Gyra CD yet (I don't even have money for food!) but I will own it today. I can't just sit here knowing that Basia is on something new that I haven't heard yet. Too bad you missed both Spyro and Peter White. I've seen Spyro in concert (openeing for you know who on the "Illusion" tour). They were fantastic! I don't know the name of thier bass player, but he's one of the best I've ever heard. Seeing Peter White in a solo performance would be wonderful. His "Caravan of Dreams" is a beautiful CD, and his solo in "Promises" still makes me shudder. A question while I'm thinking about it...Who sings the male part in "Masquerade"? Is it Danny White? Saw it in Fort Worth at Caravan of Dreams last Friday night. Worth every penny when you are sitting dead center at the stage!! Met some wonderful fans that drove all the way up from Houston then they went back to Houston for the Saturday night performance. Spyro is coming to Fort Worth on June 30th. Can't go - drat, got the new CD and also thought Basia sounded ....subdued? (don't know if that is the word that I wanted).
