Hope you and me and Ashoke can stir up some Basia cover trouble before year's end. Maybe we'll beat Basia with a new release! :) Ray Navarra, of "Pet Shop Basia" fame, writes: >BTW, as I am now trying to get a job... wish me luck as well!!! I wish you luck, Ray. I wish ALL of you luck! Everyone on the list. I hope you all graduate from sschool and go out and find wonderful new jobs, and report back immediately on the Basia list! (That should keep your mailbox filled with digests for QUITE a while, Ray). To Jan, the nutty Brit: It's always good to hear your tuppence, Jan! We most certainly need more of your warbling on the list, especially your wild holiday recipes. By the way, is Eurovision some kind of contest, like the Miss America contest only for music in different countries? Sounds interesting. I don't s'pose we get that here in the states, do we? This show ! Oh God !!! What a pity !!!. Not about performance and voices of some singers but : - - Where was the orchestra ? (hidden beyond the curtain...or the wing !!) - - Why do we have to bear clones of Spice Girls, Celine Dion or Britney Spears ??. Langage and folks make the difference and that's funny . - Why nowadays, with computers we must wait the litany of results to have the name of the champion (I don't agree with the argument of the suspense). In France, Eurovision song contest is not considered. A few years ago, show nearly disapear. I'm waiting for the parody "Austin Powers at the Eurovision...". A part from that (yes, I remember, here we're talking about our favorite singer too), I have a french interview. If you're interesting to, I'm looking for someone to translate. ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 03 Jun 1999 23:08:24 -0700 From: mondony@club-internet.fr Subject: Eurovision contest and interview. But I'll never be selected for the "Eurovision Translation Contest" because, as you see, I speak english like...a swiss whale. If someone is interesting for, I can send files.
