Although that's of course one of the reasons. But look: the perfect 4/4 dance beat; the Kevin's brass; Neil's vocal; the totally perfect lyric; plus, it's the Pet Shop Boys. :) > You know, I'm suprised no one said Neil Tennant for > the duets thread. Oh it makes me absolutely curious! The problem is, I've been waiting for some albums like crazy and when I've heard them I'm disappointed. Electronic "Twisted Tenderness" is, contrary to the group's name, pure rock. Underworld "Beaucoup Fish" could as well be disc 2 of their previous album... I've still got to hear new Mylene Farmer album, though. And Texas... :) > (BTW, there's a new EBTG album > > due out in autumn) > More of the Walking Wounded sound I wonder? It's drum'n'bass/heavy house music. BTW, Walking Wounded was my album of the year when it was released. > > love Todd's remix of Driving as well, even if the > > band themselves didn't > > approve it. > Why? Haven't heard it... It's the "bad-old-record-company" story. (We wandered quite far from Basia subject.) EBTG left Blanco Y Negro right before the release of Amplified Heart - with Missing, which sold more than all the previous EBTG singles together. (There were loads of them, BTW) Blanco Y Negro wanted to release the "best of" album for Christmas 1997, so they needed the single. They gave "Driving" to Todd Terry for a remix and he sped it up - vocals got sped up 26%. EBTG refuted to promote the single and album - they didn't want it released anyway - the single went to number 37, album sold very poorly as well. I love the remix, it's included on the "best of" album, even if it doesn't feel loyal to Tracey & Ben who themselves spoke in BBC, telling the fans not to buy the single. > I remember Basia saying on a couple of occasisons that > she liked the remix of 'Unitl You Come Back To Me' > better than the original. I think it's a crying shame UYCBTM wasn't included on Clear Horizon. > I was really shaken, > > when Melvin Bishop > > remixed my own track "Brand New Lover" - it's so > > much different from the > > original version! Sheesh..never heard of an artist doing that before. Hey, you give the DJ the liberty, he/she will use it. > I think it's a crying shame UYCBTM wasn't included > on Clear Horizon. Yeah. I wonder if it has anything to do with having to pay all the royalities on it. It was weird not seeing it, since it was a single. And I remember the video being played quite a bit back in the day. > Oooohh, we wandered really far from the subject. OH NO! ALERT THE AUTHORITIES!! (LOL) Well, when someone comes up with a Basia-related topic we haven't already covered in great depth, and when some actual news occurs, then maybe we can worry about being "off-topic!" :-) > ) Nobody else wants to know anyway... :D I don't know about that... ;) > Oh no. The only reason why I mentioned that is 'cuz when you told us about the other awards show Basia hosted, you mentioned there was another one she was going to do. - --Leslie (zzzzz...) _________________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!?
