Regards Jeff. " Blue Rondo ala Turk was the name of a band that existed in the early eighties. Danny White was in it They pressed a (7" or 12") vinal-single "Me and Mr. Sanchez" backed with "Sarava" It is the type of song you would want to hear on a big-ass party boat in the Carribean. I swear I saw an album once they did, but I have not seen it for many years. Anybody know? "Traditional Polish Sambas" you will likely never see, for it is a figment of your imagination. It is said to exist but who knows?. I think you should check the used CD bins for Basia's ESK1276, from what I hear it might be very similar. Prized. Intro's (1983) 7" 45rpm single "Haunted Cocktails" backed with "Departures" is said to be Basia's first recording. Hmmmm. MCA794 is the catalog number. "Haunted Cocktails"was composed by J. O'Neill and produced by Mike Hedges, published under the Metropolis/Warner Bros.Music Ltd.. "Departures" was composed by J. Brookes on Rondor Music (London) Ltd.. The cover designed by John Stalin. No review by Tom. HOW TO PURCHASE A VERY COMPLETE (CD ONLY)BASIA COLLECTION, IN ORDER. BASIA 101, TAUGHT BY ME. 1) Buy these first. in order. US, Europe or Japanese. Super hard to find. 4e) How about press kit collections, Highly desirable. 4d) Why not steal a Peter White guitar? That has to be worth something! 5) Basia - ESK1276 Considered the Holy Grail. It is Basia Live in Chicago in 1988, six tracks. Also has four remixes from the first CD. I have heard of this cd fetching upto eighty dollars now. The CD cover is a live shot in concert with Kevin Robinson on it I think? This CD was pulled off the market so only a few are around. 6) Bootlegs CD's I know of two unofficial releases," Traditional Polish Sambas" and "KC Masterpiece" both made out a special CD material called "Unobtainium" . Ultra rare. 7) Live Go see them in concert, that is the rarest of all Well, I trust that will help some of the newer collectors, this is a highly addictive habit, I started in 1984. Good Luck, Tommy Neill ------------------------------ End of basia-digest V4 #73 **************************
