So it actually appeared exactly a week after I sent it!! Can anybody provide an explanation for why it took so long? Is it this simple - or is >there a recipe? Tell us. >un abrazo, >juan Juan, To make a kiltie, take a packet of link breakfast sausage and a packet of streaky bacon. Separate and pierce the skins of each sausage. Then wrap the bacon around each sausage (1-2 pieces of bacon per sausage, depending on size of sausage). Place in baking tray. Bake in oven at 400 degrees farenheit for about 40-45 minutes until they look sort of yummy. To make a roast potato take a load of Idaho potatoes. Peel. Bring pan of water to boil on stovetop. Place potatoes in pot. Boil for no more than two minutes (English cookbooks will tell you 5-10 minutes, but English potatoes are much harder). Place in pan of heated vegetable fat in oven set at 450 degrees farenheit for about one hour, less if your oven is fan assisted or more efficient. Remove potatoes regularly and use spoon to baste (or scoop up and pour the heated vegetable oil over) the potatoes. When ready they should be light brown and easy to cut into, not hard. The insides should be soft and fluffy hot potato. You can do kilties and roast potatoes together with a turkey in the oven. You can even put the roast potatoes round the turkey and baste them in the turkey juices. Remember that because the temperature for the roast potatoes will be higher, you will need to put the kilties in later and remove them earlier, maybe putting them in a dish and keeping them warm somewhere. All the above goes very well with mash potato, turkey gravy, vegetables and Pepperidge Farms turkey stuffing. ENJOY!!!
