Now all UK magazines describe him always as "openly gay star". Hmm. I wonder, why I never see the words "openly heterosexual star". We would have loved it if you had joined us too, Ray, and as many Basia fans who could possibly fit in the state of Ohio. We've got some pics of the event, and I think Ashoke plans to somehow make them available (possibly through the generosity of Ben or Anders?) for general viewing by the List. I went on their home page and was not sure who to even send the confirmation request to. Any help would be appreciated. I second that emotion. I was thinking I might've misinterpreted that letter, also. Really, Basia doesn't really "owe" us anything at all, IMHO--she, however, chooses to share her angelic music with us every few years, and we all appreciate and love her for it. So what if she is lax in replying to fan mail? How good of letter writers are we? Or e-mail writers? I can be assured that Basia does somehow get these mail, reads them, and is very appreciative of them. But we don't know what's going on in her daily life--maybe she truly doesn't have the time, but that really isn't any of our business. After all, she must be very busy getting that new album out next year. :) All I think that we should appreciate, IMHO, everything that she does give us, not what she doesn't. If people are concerned about her not being in the public eye and not replying to her fans, then write her and address this. I think the Basia-letter project idea, that Ashoke explained to me at the Basia Convention '98, is absolute the best idea to express to Basia how we love her and how much we "need" her. raburabu joe P.S. Totally excited to get out of this Armpit Frozen Prison of Dayton, OH, and go to the big city this weekend! (Columbus, OH!)
