But finding anything of that quality in Ohio, ESPECIALLY Cleveland, would be near impossible. :) You need to come to Dayton for that. (Yeah, RIGHT! :)) Why isn't Joanna coming to the convention? I am SO looking forward to it! Happy Holidays, everyone! raburabu joe ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 23 Dec 1998 16:25:03 -0600 From: "Don Leuty" Subject: Many thanks. I just got the greatest surprise of the year....anonymously. To the friend who sent me +ACI-Clear Horizon+ACI-, my deepest thanks. You made this Christmas something very special. You surely will be missed! raburabu joe ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 23 Dec 1998 16:35:55 PST From: "Leslie Brown" Subject: Re: Some here, some there >I owe a lot of my appreciation for jazz to Cobo Hall. Please, please. Joanna not coming is not why I am looking forward. raburabu joe, who bears the face of shame ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 22 Dec 1998 18:48:58 -0600 From: tom@inetnebr.com, kelly&jordan Subject: Same Big Q Howdy all, For those of you who missed out, I'll repeat my question. BIG QUESTION FOR EVERYONE. This might be too much to ask of you all, and my question may clog up this list. But I am curious. NAME THE 5 MOST ENJOYABLE MUSIC DISKS YOU HAVE HEARD IN 1998? Simple question. CD, Vinal, tape, old or new. This is my own question and I spaced off answering it. Here is my answer, not in order. 1) The Artist's, "Crystal Ball" 2) Frank Zappa's, "Have I offended someone?" 3) Basia's, "KC Masterpiece" 4) The Jam, "Greatest Hits" 5) Claude Debussey, "Plays again-In Stereo" Irie Holidays to you all. So unburden yourself. We will all miss Joanna, who BTW, is one of the VERY few people who can go from the "work-has-been-a-literal-whirlwind-today"-look to the "I-am-sophiscticated-and-casually-chic-let's-have-that-martini"-look in about 45 seconds flat!!! I witnessed the transformation first hand. This is one of the many reasons I why think she is so cool! :-D As to the reason Joanna is not coming, well, first of all there is this minor problem of ...oh 3000 miles! She lives in Oakland, CA. With regards to sushi, Joanna will vouch that Cleveland is not to be scoffed at. Right Joanna? With regards to the weather in CA, my friend Carl just wrote to me, quite disturbed by the fact that it is 30 degrees in LA and there is ice on the water fountain basin in his backyard. HELLO!!!! Try about 25 BELOW zero (with windchill) last night here. My porchdoor-knob was frozen and stuck when I got home (thankfully the front door was deadbolted and the knob was unlocked). Regards, Ashoke (who is California dreaming). ------------------------------ End of basia-digest V3 #295 ***************************
