Unfortunatey I didn't catch 'em... :( Plus, she has advanced with Clear Horizon from number 31 to 22 on Polish Radio 3 chart. (And debuted at #10 on my own chart... you can check it on my site) Merry Xmas everyone... (Nice job folks--- keep voting at the Radio 3 website!!!) ;^) Unfortunately, she appears to have peaked on the Japanese J-WAVE chart, as she is at #31 this week, down for the second week from the high of #20. Still, a great showing for a single with no televison (music video) or personal appearance support. Happy holidays, all!!! - -Kevin ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 21 Dec 1998 10:52:54 -0500 From: "Ashoke S. Talukdar" Subject: Re: basia-digest V3 #292 Welcome Cliff! Joanna (one of many Northern California fans) laments: >By the way, Stephen, have you heard any of the new Basia on KKSF? ...I >HATE what >they've done to their format recently...dumped most of their interesting >international artists (Miguel Bose, Ottmar Leibert, etc.) and added "easy >listening artists" like Whitney Houston, Earth Wind & Fire, Gino Vanelli, >etc. etc. etc. ... Gack! Joanna that's EXACTLY what happened with WNUA here in Chicago. (Are y'all sick of hearing me talk about this?) Used to be an innovative "new age" station. Well, you can call it what you want, but "lite/smooth jazz" music by any other name still sounds as nauseating ... Ray Navarra corrects me: >Aaaawwww! :) You're not Basia. I know a little Polish (actually, I'm a >Pole) but I don't know what you wished to say. :)...But if you wanted to >say "We'll say it in Polish" you should write >"Powiemy po polsku" :) That's EXACTLY what I meant, Ray! Those little signs appear on storefronts all over the city. >Best wishes... Wesolych Swiat i Szczesliwego Nowego Roku! I was told that "Wesolych Swiat Bozego Narodzenia" translates to "Merry Christmas." Just what, exactly, does your pretty phrase mean? A fun fact: in Japanese, "roku" means six! Ashoke encourages Jan: >Now if I could only convince you guys to visit Cleveland somewhere between >12/27 and 1/3, we COULD have that Basia convention! :-D I second that! Jan, it would be AMAZING to meet you as well. Then you can tell us what you REALLY think about our little school buses! Also, you Californians are probably considering a trip to the Midwest right about now, and we'd love to meet you all as well. Happy Holidays and a Peaceful Winter Solstice to all! (Which, in English, translates to "Whatever you celebrate, may it be filled with love, warmth and happiness") Meg ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 21 Dec 1998 14:35:21 -0500 From: "Thelma Gunter" Subject: Re: basia-digest V3 #292 Doing fine. Went to Hawaii for a week. Had a great time, found a glass Japanese fishing float. This probably means nothing to you but they are a rare find. Oh, then the Regis and Kathie Lee show called and I answered their trivia question and won a video camera. I had a list of things to mention if they asked and after the kids came Basia but no time.(is 6 too many children?) I know that would have made a great post and was sad that I did not get to mention her on national television. I've got that Christmas buzz happening. I love this time of year. A very Merry to all!
