Mentor, to be exact. :o) I also wanted to mention, that I always forget that I have the "Basia e-mail" sent to this JK25471 address. I created a new screen name well over a year ago and just never resubscribed under the newer and more frequently used screen name. Anyway, I just wanted to clarify that JK25471 and Jackie67@aol.com are one in the same. and someday I will unsubscribe and resubscribe. WELL!!! If you are still living in Mentor, we might be neighbors one of these days since if I decide to live in Cleveland, I will probably move to Chardon or some other place on the East side (as in where the good food is). :-D Ashoke. P.S. In Ashoke's popularity charts, "Clear Horizon" is now neck-to-neck with "Go For You". By the sound of it, CH will soon be in the lead (with "Angels Blush" in a close second or third). Can't stop listening to the song (CH). Yesterday I was headed for the airport. From my house that's a 45-50 minute drive. Never got past CH (that's track ONE, folks!!!). IMO that chorus, from the point of harmony, is second only to the chorus of "Yearning"! ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 13 Dec 1998 13:31:39 EST From: Richard216@aol.com Subject: Re: basia-digest V3 #284 THAT MAKES 4 BASIA BUCKEYES, HI JACKIE!! ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 13 Dec 1998 11:24:39 PST From: "Leslie Brown" Subject: Re: Odp: Mass reply >First some of my friends say (when I'm saying--"Basia's the best"): >"Don't exagerate, this music is too ambicious, only a few >people are listening to her" etc. and then I find this mailing list >concerning Basia and meet here wonderful people. David Burne said it is mantra like. That's a really appropriate connection, I think. The repetitive quality of the song certainly lends itself to that. My only hope is that more will be exposed to this wonderful version of the song. She does a great job with it. BTW, has anyone heard the 4 "new" songs on radio? Just wondering. >Imagine a 1990's style high speed edited video of all the images suggested, >over 100. Um, I kinda tried a little of this. Let me put it this way: at least 2 JAZ disks and about 100 clips. Oy! What an undertaking! Haven't listened to it for a while now, so I don't remember if it's in English or in Portuguese. I think it's in Portuguese. It's done quite traditionally, though. Very unlike Cibo Matto, may I add. To me, it's the apex of an otherwise slightly disappointing EP. I'm waiting for their next album, which should be released late 1999, I'm informed. About the same time as Basia's... Two things to look forward to by the end of the millennium...
