The Basia interview was a real eye opener. She IS a real and genuine person. To Meg and Ashoke, I am still waiting for the "December Date" to get together. I have another Basia fan that wants to join us. She is from the East Side of Cleveland and a devoted Basia fan too. Talukdar" Subject: New Day Video Hi gang! I finally watched the video last night. I have to say I agree with Meg - Basia looks adorable in the entire thing, particularly in the first videos like "Promises" and "Prime Time TV". Did anyone else notice how SHY she is in the interviewed clips - she rarely looks at the interviewer! I tend to agree with whoever that said that the "New Day for You" video was sappy. It was a silly video. (My personal interpretation was that the guy in the video was sort of expecting a call at that phone booth, but was not sure of either if the call would actually happen OR if he wanted to take it. He finally decided that he did and it actually did come through, and obviously bore good news. The call could have been anyone - the women singing the song, a new girlfriend, an employer...). She is absolutely stunning in "Baby You're Mine". I second Brian's sentiments - THOSE EYES!!! However, my favorite video was "Cruising for Bruising". It was excellently put together and what a cute idea to make Danny play the part of the ex! Talking about Danny, I think he is a doll! Oh HOW I wish they had stayed together and produced, along with those beautiful songs, some beautiful babies! :-D I was surprised to find that she lives with Kevin Robinson - I did not know that. And if she is in her forties, wouldn't it be a little dicey to have children (she says she wants to in the Radio Zet interview). I actually have a favor to ask: can someone please identify him (Kevin) in one of the New Day videos for me - is he the one playing the trumpet in "Prime Time TV"? And, please, don't misunerstand me, but I'd like also add a few words from myself: Basia in her interview characterized Englishmen. Maybe she's right, but from my point of view I must to say this (I have an American, Jewish friend who lives in Pensylvania, too): I experience that Englishmen, well, English- speaking people are very cultural. Always, when I speak or listen to them I am shocked (as a Pole) with their kindness and so on (I can't express this too well :) That is, I think, what we, Poles, should teach from you. We took our vacation this year in the Carribean. Haiti, Jamiaca, and the Grand Cayman Islands mon. I listened to Waters of March over and over sitting at beaches in 85 degree weather. I envy those of you who live near large bodies of water. Looks like lots has happened in the last two weeks. Nice interview. Thank you Tomz, for translating it. I think we have the same name Great dicography. Kev&Bev mon, I must not procrastinate any longer I have some items that are not on your list. The color pictures are nice. what format can I send scans to you in? I use Photoshop. Kevin said; "As Mr. Martinez mentioned, there is indeed a *fourth* cover variation, which I just received a couple of days ago, and will be posting on the dicography shortly. This fourth version, using a picture I've never seen before, was used on a disc issued out of Holland in 1987, which, as far as I know, is the only CD to appear on the Portrait label (before it was folded into Epic). It's quite an austere, dramatic b/w shot, which I quite like. Coming soon, I promise! - - -Kevin" Tom asks I am very confused with this cover thing. In 1987 i knew this guy who knew this guy in Germany. As we talked he said Basia had just released T&T. Twenty dollars later I had that Holland pressing in my hands. PRT4502631 is 12" of vinal greatness with the standard 10 T&T songs, there are liner notes with a picture of the American cover inside. The ALBUM cover is black, front and back on the front is a large COLOR picture of her with her head resting on her hand. WOW what a babe!. I have never seen the Euro CD or the Japanese cover which as somebody said is inside of the Remix II or I package. I'm losing myself here. just for clarity 1) US T&T has Basia shot with finger painting b&w 2) EURO T&T has Basia with head in her hand. Wow what a babe! color. 3) JAPAN T&T Whole head side shot. Color? I've never seen this one. 4) Is there another cover for this record? Irie mon! Tom Neill ps "Irie" is Jamaican for "happy, fine, well" "Mon" is just fun to say.
