I definitely would get Positivity- lots of familiar faces, and some amazing songs ('Still A Friend Of Mine,' 'Deep Waters') Then 'Tribes, Vibes & Scribes' (with 'Don't You Worry Bout A Thing' and 'L'Arc En Ciel De Miles...man I haven't heard that one in a while). Inside Life isn't bad at all but not as good. It's notable for some co-composing by Kevin Robinson, though. Also they have two newer releases (not counting the remix CD) but I like the older stuff better. I really became a fan of the Basia sidemen after checking out their other work- they're everywhere on stuff coming out of England (I'm a big Kevin and Fayyaz fan- noticed? ) >I tell ya... I still haven't quite worked out all the breath-in spots!!! I >wanna hear this one live I tell ya!!! Then at the end she passes out from lack of oxygen. No seriously, I am more and more impressed with that song the more I hear it. One can almost separate the pre--vocal-lessions Basia from the 1994-to-the present Basia. She really benefitted from the work. So did Danny with his thing. What continues to amaze me is that she's writing in her second language. She could give a lot of native-speakers a few pointers. Speaking of Danny, I kinda wish he didn't get so drowned out in 'Clear horizon' the song. He's back there somewhere, but one wouldn't know unless they were already aware of it. >And best of all, we'll know about it. I remember pre-internet for me, when >my hubby and I were in Louisiana and Sweetest Illusion came out -- what a >great surprise! But now I can sit and wait with anticipation and >interaction....!!! I want a tour doggone it!!! Tell me about it! I first caught wind of TSI when the Pine Knob lineup came out (about April) and my mom told me she was coming there. I thought it was her idea of a joke at first :) Then it was a matter of hunting down the info by scouring CD stores, newstands, etc. What a pain. I remember when the People interview came out- I was just browsing through it, minding my own business, when lo and behold, she was staring at me. Wow! The internet is such a great thing. Sigh. >Now if we can just find them too!!! Hee! Maybe more people will check it out at Schuler's too. I hope so. - -Leslie ______________________________________________________ Get Your Private, Free Email at http://www.hotmail.com ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 19 Nov 1998 01:28:05 EST From: Dorala@aol.com Subject: Hello again it's me miles away! Dear Basia or whoever: This is my first time writing. I don't know if I have an address that is correct or not. I am in the Broadway cast of Les Miserables and about 3 years ago Basia came to see our show as my guest along with Peter and Danny White. We were so happy to have them there and they were gracious enough to come backstage after and meet us. I just wanted to say hello and request mailings from you or whoever as a fan. Take care and God Bless you! Love, Madeleine ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 19 Nov 1998 13:27:36 PST From: "Rob B." Subject: Club Chat Basia Club members had their first chat last night. Most interesting is that one of the members has received a letter from Basia which they shared with us. We also discussed when each of us first "discovered" Basia (and Danny) and her/their music. We wondered if Basia or Danny ever get on the internet and might want to participate, since it's such a small group. (Any clues?....Diane?) We also decided to schedule a chat each Wednesday at 9:00EDT which you are all welcome to join. Like they say....the more the merrier! ______________________________________________________ Get Your Private, Free Email at http://www.hotmail.com ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 19 Nov 1998 12:41:04 +0000 From: "Becky Witter" Subject: Re: Clear Horizon If you have a credit card, you can order it from : http://www.cdnow.com They're great! Like they say....the more the merrier! EVERY Wed at 6:00 PST I'm on the train (yes, public transportation exists in California!) I imagine other west-coasters may be not home yet, on the way. We probably can't find any time that's fine with all. I request we try some kind of alternating schedule, say every "week and a half": Sunday/Wednesday/Sunday/Wed..., skipping the week between (I think twice a week would be too often). By this schedule, having "met" on Wed., 18 Nov., the next time would be Sunday, 29 Nov.; then Wed., 9 Dec.; Sun., 20 Dec.; etc. Is this workable? Maybe Rob would be willing to post a schedule, and someone may have a scheduler software package that would automatically email basia@smoe.org the day before. (I may have such s/w.) Whataya think? - -Bill Schnaitter P.S. Rob, I hope you've turned your clock back to standard time... =:) ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 19 Nov 1998 16:56:13 -0500 From: "Ashoke S. After two weeks, the order status still says "In Process". In the meantime, they have already charged my card (I called Amex). But the CD has not been shipped yet. Here's the other bit. I also ordered the "New Day" video. Says it's backordered. But they have charged THAT to the card too. I think that's just plain WRONG! You don't charge till you are ready to ship!!! So I sent them an e-mail. No answer. Sent them another one (a little less polite this time). I get an answer with some half-ass apology and that they will "look into" it and get back to me soon. Nothing since. Maybe they're NOT so great after all. 24 hours more and I am calling the Better Business Bureau. Ashoke. ________________________________________________________________ Ashoke S. Subject: Basia Club Questions There seems to be a good deal of interest and questions about the chat schedule at the Basia club. Let me address some of the questions. Regarding the time - How about a compromise. We leave the Wed chat schedule and add a Sunday chat at, say 4:00pm EDT (1:00pm PDT)? BTW the chat only STARTS at 9:00 on Wed, you can always join in when it's convenient for you. Regarding the schedule - The club has a "Calendar" which shows all of the days chats are scheduled. The chat room is always available and any members who make separate arrangments to meet there can always use the room as they want. Regarding saved chats - Sorry but Yahoo makes no provisions for saving the chats. Bill Schnaitter wrote: >>P.S.
