My question now (in the unlikely event that anyone would know at this early stage of the game) is will the CD be the same in every country in which it is released? I've noticed that when a CD is released in different countries, the contents are sometimes different. For example, the Japanese Time and Tide CD has tracks that we didn't get in the US. (At least not until the second version of the Brave New Hope CD.) I believe the Brazilian release of Basia on Broadway also had some "extra" material. Just wondering, - -Brian* (.....who tries to avoid buying basically the same thing more than once, but has made an exception for Basia before and doesn't mind doing it again, if necessary.) ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 26 Oct 1998 06:58:42 EST From: JPovlock@aol.com Subject: Basia Video I picked up a copy of the Basia video "A New Day" (1990), which shows her in six of her videos. The question I have concerns the musicians(?) in the background. Who are those guys? There is only one in which Peter White is playing, and there are a couple different guitarists playing. Also, is that really Danny on the "Promises" video? I'd love to know, somebody....... We'll definitely have to trade track listings and compare!!! Maybe I'll need to buy a US one for you and trade for a Japanese one....? -- Beverly Martin Sitting on pins and needles waiting for November 17....!!!!!!! I'm trying to think of who the other guys are. Ronnie Ross is in Prime Time TV with Kevin and Danny. Who is that blond longhaired guy? He seems to be in all of them. And isn't Peter in Prime Time TV as well? Danny is in Time and Tide, and who could forget his starring role in Cruising For Bruising? (as for the other T & T guys- that's anyone's guess) Until You Come Back To Me pretty much has the whole gang in it- wouldn't Marc Antoine be in it since he was touring with her band at the time? (or was that the T&T tour?) However I definitely recognise Kevin (revealing some built arms, and eating out of foil like nobody's business), Peter (for 2.2 seconds- the shots are pretty fast), Danny in there (was Fayyaz Virji of the 'Go Fiz Go' fame with the band then?) Who was the really excitable guy that takes a bow with Basia (in the yellow)? And who was the guy that had his arm around her? (I know, "who the hell knows") Okay, so I need to actually watch the video again. But this is from what I remember. The Baby Youre Mine video is just awesome though (she just knocks everyone out by existing in that one- never mind how she's dressed!), and I love the moment at the end of the Cruising For Bruising video when, just when you think poor Basia is going to lose out, Mr. Red Sports Car comes up the driveway and takes her inside the house. Yeeeah! (as one might've said in 1990, "You go, girl!) Time to stop rambling. I'm sure this didn't help you out much, Jim, but it was a great topic to present! - -Leslie ______________________________________________________ Get Your Private, Free Email at http://www.hotmail.com ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 26 Oct 1998 07:28:04 PST From: "Leslie Brown" Subject: Speaking of Basia sidemen... ... go to the All Music Guide, and punch up any of her albums (I did my search from LWNY) to find each player's credits. Wow! It's really interesting the variety of stuff they have done- and the volume! For example, Kevin Robinson is on "The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill." Way! Pretty much everyone ever credited is listed. I didn't get to go through all of it, but one could if they like a certain player's work. - -Leslie, glad to finally have some time on her hands! ______________________________________________________ Get Your Private, Free Email at http://www.hotmail.com ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 25 Oct 1998 09:29:32 +0000 (GMT) From: combee@dacha.yak.net (Ben Combee) Subject: New Basia Fan Site Great site, Thom! I have noticed that at my local mall, that records tend to be $2/3 higher than stores such as J & R records - Record Explosion, that I frequesnt in NYC. Even the PW Perfect moments album was $14.99 in Borders, whereas in J & R it was $12.99. Ah but the 3 track exclusive was worth it. Have even seen the3 Album special that Sony just released by Basia at my local mall for about $30 whereas J & R has it for about $22 You pays ya money ya gets ya choice. bfn BobR ------------------------------ End of basia-digest V3 #237 ***************************
